What’s everyone’s thoughts on the best clubs for Juniors in terms of decent coaching, fair trials, opportunities and development for players?

Is it dependent on individual coaches? Luck? Who you know?

Do not go with the big clubs if you want a fair opportunity.

Just join any club, even E&D. Just like anywhere else in the world the FSA / AUFC are completely impartial with an extensive scouting network and unconflicted structured pathway. You can be sure regardless of club or your income the best kids will get through.

At this point just wanting an environment that provides decent development and coaching and a fair go without too much bias…

Surely someone cam suggest a couple of clubs worth looking at?

From personal experience if you want the above and your kids have genuine athletic ability, take them to an Aussie rules club. Two of my kids got a fair go in there, found their place and still love it, as do I.
As for football, they really only want your money and most change coaches and set ups at such frequency it is all pretty random. Again from my experience only the clubs I note that appear to put in more than a token effort on development are the Jets and Raiders. It’s all pretty fucked up though

My lad has had a great run at cumby. He only started soccer because he was too young for footy and has not looked back. Can also speak highly of playford as an on looker

Depends on where you live, since the time and effort required with kids football is energy sapping.

Cumberland, Birkalla & Para Hills have on average over the years had very good junior teams and support.

No guarantees though that you will end up in an enjoyable, good coach team.

It changes year to year and some years you will get a good coach, the next an absolute basket case.
