Parra Hills granted Npl licence for 2017
So it seems Parra Hills have been granted a licence to stay in the Npl due to the fall of Sturt Marion

Re: Parra Hills granted Npl licence for 2017
This will make for some interesting times having happened after the squads have been selected.
A fair few Knights girls have moved to Salisbury, so I expect Knights will be weaker than last year.
In combination with the turmoil at City meaning that some of their former players are on the move to West and Metro. The competition may have a couple of very strong clubs and a couple significantly weak. Time will tell.

Will be interesting how the ex Knights players will perform under new coach and club. Or will they return to Para Hills now the club is back in WNPL.

Re: Parra Hills granted Npl licence for 2017
I would think a relegated team would not be reinstated otherwise what is the point of originally relegating them? If the rule says bottom team automatically relegated then that is it, relegation, but as with most things ffsa do they do what ever they like and only give most rules and regulations lip service. How many teams will that mean left in the state league?

My mail is that Knights turned down the option. They knew they didn't have the standard of players.

Best check who's writing your mail and question their sourcePHKFAN wrote:My mail is that Knights turned down the option. They knew they didn't have the standard of players.
I am amazed at the amount of unsubstantiated gossip that is put on this forum its hilarious.
Re: Parra Hills granted Npl licence for 2017
Comes from a player at the club. Didn't say it was substantiated or official. Hence the mail comment.

Should be the team that finished behind Inter get automatic promotion never known a relegated team to get promoted back up up again, above the Runner up from the next division down.

Makes sense to me....but then again, FFSA aren't exactly known for making logical decisionsThe General wrote:Should be the team that finished behind Inter get automatic promotion never known a relegated team to get promoted back up up again, above the Runner up from the next division down.

Stirling
Gawler
South Adelaide
Comets
Knights
FFSA team
FFSA have asked for nominations from other clubs to go into the state league so hopefully it will be an 8 club league next year, i'm sure that's what FFSA would be hoping for and encouraging.

State League definitely need one or preferably 2 more teams to make it a relevant competition.Rightside wrote:Stirling

Hopefully someone like Jags can step up, they have some quality in their sides, both junior and senior. Not sure many other clubs have the structure in place or depth to make the move.

It is my understanding they're already in. I imagine there will be a couple of other nominations. The General wrote:Noarlunga would be competitive in the State league - what is the criteria please ?Rightside wrote:Stirling

FFSA won't be competing in the State League in 2017.

Re: Parra Hills granted Npl licence for 2017
Yes they would. They need to have a second team to play Reserves, that's pretty much it for State League criteria. The General wrote:Noarlunga would be competitive in the State league - what is the criteria please ?Rightside wrote:Stirling

Re: Parra Hills granted Npl licence for 2017
Interesting, how many clubs/teams that meet the state/wnpl criteria will choose to nominate for state league to increase team numbers.
Firstly How many clubs meet the criteria? and if ffsa withdraw a team from state league where do they play?? then one less also? if Noarlunga do not have a reserves team then can they play in State league?
To be honest the criteria to play WNPL and State league make it very difficult for some clubs and teams and will become more difficult in the future as in SA the number of available players is not the same as in eastern states and when ffsa continually allow new junior and senior clubs into various competitions most of the players for those teams basically come from other clubs or teams generally most are not new players to the game so just robbing peter to pay paul. Basically often, if a Junior coach goes from one team to another for whatever reason, he basically tries to take some/most of the players in that age group with him(this is a common situation).
Also do not understand why it is important for WNPL clubs to have Juniors in every age group, sure most clubs aspire to have juniors in every age group but often U15/17 difficult age group. with limited participation numbers in SA. Especially now with AFL becoming a very good alternative option.
So as a result clubs just try to pinch junior players from other clubs.
