The record-breaking results of the National Cricket Census are in and it's good news for Australian cricket
Cricket is Australia's current number one participation sport after record numbers picked up a bat and ball in 2015-16, while almost one quarter of all players are female, the National Cricket Census has revealed. After crunching the numbers, Cricket Australia today unveiled the record-breaking results from this year's National Cricket Census. A record 1,311,184 people played cricket across Australia in 2015-16, an 8.5 per cent increase on 2014-15 – placing cricket at No.1 as the current top participation sport in Australia. Women's cricket at the highest level went from strength to strength last summer with the success of the Women's Big Bash League and that success is being reflected at grassroots level, where participation reached record figures in 2015-16, growing nine per cent to 314,936 players.

Numbers are rubbish.
There are 1.8million persons playing football versus 0.96 million playing cricket.
Its almost 2 to 1 ratio.
