In the good old days prize money eg Ampol Cup was worth half a median priced house today in Adelaide.

Artificial pitches reminds me of the soccer balls if old and now.

Nothing beats those pure leather orange brown in colour soccer balls of the good old days, the leather smell of them fantastic okay with on perfect days but when wet they weighted a ton and gave you brain cell damage when you headered them. Then to today's synthetic balls that bounce too much and can be rock hard to kick if over inflated.
There is no reason here in Australia where we have generally dry conditions to play on eg Hal league is played in summer to bring back leather soccer balls .
