I'm a happy daddy cause I coach my own kids. I make sure ones the captain and the other is e centre mid. Keeps my wife happy too

Yes it's very predictable that all coaches, assistant coaches, officials and team managers son's get selected for STIC's.

They then also get selected for the later trials up until the final Skilleroos are selected.

I've heard that there needs to be a certain 'success rate',
whereby success is measured by the number of players then invited
to the AIS. Rumour has it that there will ALWAYS be a satisfactory success
rate, mate helping mate.

These are part time coaching roles...they have others jobs/trades to pay the bills.....what are you thinking is appropriate?

Definitely not hearsay and i do have confirmation. Got a shocking example but with respect to those affected it's not fair to be factual on here. I'm pointing the direction, it's best the FFSA now looks into conflicts of interest.

The SAP program has much to be desired, aimed at finding flair and raw talent only to kill it, to make robots. 11 identical players do not make a team, however a mix of diverse talents in their own right does. The coach's eye must consider differing pathways for raw flair, game changers, creators, change-pacers, not just physical wreckers.

As you asked, appropriate coaches would be retired pros, not non-discripts, plus funded by the system. It's about evolution, roll modelling, passionate retired pros wanting to make Kids better than they were. E.g Cristiano and Cassio are floating around, they totally captivate, they promote flair, they get on the kids level, they playfully beat kids with tricks during drinks breaks. The kids want to be like them, not some old fashioned newsagent.

there seems to be some dissatisfaction with the system for threads to re-open from year to year...I find it hard to comment on the success of this system without any numbers to back up anyone's story...ie some kind of measure of success clearly would indicate if boys became greater players than they might have been if they just stayed at club ....IMO the SAP training is better than club
but also can it compare to what's going on elsewhere in the world..? Parents are deluded if they think that a couple of extra trainings a week for half the year plus club will make a boy world class.
You don't hear of a champion kid's swimming training taking this little input (from the system or the kid+parent ) ...to me this is where the system needs improvement ...to put all the options on the table and some real feedback to boys and parents about what training is available to increase the depth of talent then the so called knock-out blow as described above becomes irrelevant ..

Fact is only around 30 kids can be taken into the program at u/13's - is that right?- Skillaroos and Shadow?

Theres the problem right there-..they can't take everyone...and everyone wants that better coaching , better training etc.

My only concern is the SAP/STIC coaches that poach the kids that don't make it and guide them to particular clubs with false hope of staying on the radar- there is no reason to expose these coaches as they usually go away after a year or 2 and people work out them out.

I prefer working with my ugly duckling kids and improving them in a great club environment. If your good enough they will come and get you is our motto. These SAP and STIC trails held can be a waste of time- you just need to watch lots of games and you will identify the kids in their natural environment, but it is good for kids to experience and see what all the fuss is all about after the 2nd or 3rd time of trying out , they usually say give someone else the opportunity to experience SAP/STIC trials.

Im more concerned about how JPL leagues are established from u/13's than SAP and STIC......thats manipulation at its worst
