If AU are successful or not the people of Adelaide do not care much? But if it was Power or Crows or Test cricket it is another story or EPL english side

What people? I know shitloads of people who care

It's true though about Adelaide in comparison with the Sydney and Melbourne with the paper etc.

Maybe they deserve all their favouritism

After all, we remember those ticker tape parades when the Crows and Power won the AFL premiership. Hang on ... there wasn't any.

Adelaide saw its largest parade since World War II on 3 October 1997, when a ticker tape parade organised by the Council was held for 1997AFL Premiers, the Adelaide Crows. More than 120,000 people lined the City’s streets to see the motorcade travel along King William Street to the Town Hall where the team was presented with the Key to the City of Adelaide. The Lord Mayor and Premier hosted a joint reception for the players and their families at the Town Hall.

They are called the good old days.

It is all going downhill fast now.
Many of us will never follow AU, that is AU's problem not ours to solve .

Call it as you please but AU is in trouble and has reached budget club peak eg crowds etc.

Furthermore:
New coach
New CEO
New marketing manager
New northern training ground
Low crowds at AO
Low on premiership table
= up hill battle for 2015/16

no Socceroos games for Adelaide tells you where the FFA regard SA
once they see how successful replacement Sydney team is for Wellington they'll look to the other liability franchises
AU are one of the lowest crowd draws for Sydney matches, ratings are low

The problems here are obvious ,
WAH and AC poured bucket loads of $$$$ into the local game and at the end got systematically shafted out. The followers of these two soccer communities have never forgotten this fact and turned out to be AU haters in volume .

AU needs to realise that without a strong sustainable local league and junior leagues in SA, AU will not survive.
AU needs to withdraw all ffsa teams ASAP !!!

The HAL needs to reformat back to playing in winter on Sunday afternoons to connect with the local leagues.

There are big signs of cracks emerging in the Hal already.

Seriously though congrats MV. As much as I hate them they are going great guns in every aspect. Gotta respect that. This is exactly what the HAL needs. Healthy clubs like this not reliant on wealthy board members and owners.

One question I have though. Are MV the most successful Football club financially in Australian football history?
Has another club ever been in such a strong position financially? But not due to the generosity of a rich supporter/owner?

Considering MV are rivalling many AFL clubs financially I'd doubt it.

My original post was cut yet again.

Answer smh ,

Furthermore, MV above the rest, yes but the Hal is showing cracks this summer....
The Hal needs to go to winter and games played on Sunday afternoons like the old Phillips League.

Cricket is reforming with day/ night Tests and 20/20 is here in force .
Soccer Hal needs to connect with local leagues to survive.

It looks like the Hal is no better than the old NSL in the financing capacity to clubs .
