Ex SACA President Ian McLachlan's nephew now AFL CEO

Gillon McLachlan has now replaced Lord Demetriou and has become the AFL's new CEO.

Ian McLachlan did very well extracting $85,000,000 from the S.A. Government to "retire" SACA's debt.

I just felt he could have convinced his nephew Gillon (who was number 2 in the AFL at the time) to lobby the AFL to contribute more than just $5 million to the Adelaide Oval refurb which the AFL will benefit greatly from. Gillon is an ex South Australian who played cricket and aussie rules for University here and could have got his organization to help out a bit more with the half-a-billion-dollars-plus cost to the State Government. Maybe a belated contribution of $1 million towards that $40,000,000 bridge too, eh Gillon/Ian?

After all, the AFL has $billion+ TV money to spare - witness their explosion of the number of bureaucrats at it's ivory tower HQ to 315 staff.
