Adelaide uni Friday night games
So adelaide uni want Friday night games . I understand their reasonings but we play on Saturdays. What time will all 3 kick offs be? What club consultation occurred.
What if a club is unavailable on a Friday night?

Maybe you should take that up with the league, don't they set the fixtures?God is an Englishman wrote:So adelaide uni want Friday night games . I understand their reasonings but we play on Saturdays. What time will all 3 kick offs be? What club consultation occurred.

Isn't that why clubs get draft fixtures? To consult their teams and say no or yes?

On the draft fixtures it was listed as a saturday. On final copy, some games are listed for the Friday.

Just seems like once again, uni are asking for special consideration.
They seem like quite relevant questions me. Care to answer them or just pass the buck?
Do you believe that some consideration should have been given to uni's opposition and some consultation should have occurred rather than just a fixture list being given out with the ammendments?

Apparently their contact details and opening times are listed on their website. Though I suggest you check for yourself though.

Why don't you just speak to them rather than bore us with your view?
They're quite reasonable people and you could give them your suggestion about your 1 game out of 18.
Hat's off to Uni for thinking outside the square.

Did anyone force you to open and read my comments, and then actually reply? Is there a gun being held to your head?
Because it's more than 1 game, several clubs are affected.
So far, I haven't really even offered my opinion. I've asked what consultation occurred.
Coober Pedy Millwall might join the league and see if we can play our home games at 3am on a wednesday morning.
So far I'm doubting they're reasonable at all. Remember their whingeing when they were told that referees wear black.

Typical deflection from you really. Can't you answer a simple question?
Are Uni once again trying for special treatment?
It's not my position to contact the league and ask these questions, that's for others. My position (as an individual) is to raise it here and see if you run away.

It doesn't bother me at all. I'm not aware of the way in which the league formulates it's fixtures, I just tried to ease your obvious distress by suggesting ways in which you could find out.
You seem to be the one with your panties all in a bunch.
What does this issue have to do with Adelaide Uni wearing black? Are you concerned that it may be difficult to see your opponents in the dark?

Pretty sure it is a fair assumption to think that all fixtures in a Saturday league will be played as such.

It was in relation to someone saying they were "reasonable".
I am merely asking questions about how it's been allowed to happen, personally I enjoy Friday night fixtures as it clears up my saturday to watch more of my kids play their sports.
Why won't you answer my simple questions, you must be fit with all the running away you do? do you support west ham by any chance?
Re: Adelaide uni Friday night games
So after all that, what times would the kick off's be?
I think that was part of the original question. Friday night games are ok, something different in my opinion...

I completely agree, but it should surely be in consultation with the opposition club not just thrusted upon them.
I have no idea if all of our players are available on Friday nights, I'm sure they will find a way of becoming available but this is bigger than just one club.

I don't think I have run away from anything. I tried to help you out and all it seemed to do was upset you even more.
If the league don't set the fixtures then who does? I am sure that clubs can request changes to times & days but surely it's up to the league to ratify this.

Re: Adelaide uni Friday night games
The general assumption would be that a fixture, specifically the times, would be a concern for both Clubs involved with the fixture, particularly if there was a change from the 'normal' day or times.
It was mentioned briefly on Monday nights SAASL delegate meeting (something to do with parking and AFL games at Adelaide Oval)....I assumed it was still at the draft stage.

I thought they were called "Saturday & Sunday Leagues" for a reason. Otherwise why bother with two leagues at all if you're going to play at various times on various days? Just sayin...

Re: Adelaide uni Friday night games
Well this escalated quickly! Maybe there is a move to Friday night to compete with the a league for television rights? Heard Comedy Central are after the amateur league tv rights

Re: Adelaide uni Friday night games
They have 9 home games and 1 of those is against the Jets, so that is one game for you to be concerned about.
As for the other 8 games, are you assuming those 8 clubs have an issue with playing on Friday nights? I already know that 8 clubs don't have an issue with it.
If the Jets have a problem, speak to them.

Someone said they were reasonable, I offered a differing opinion and providing an example of a time when they weren't reasonable. As for who am I to decide, well I'm the perfect person to decide what I think is reasonable or not.
I have not discussed with my club as this is my opinion, I offer that and don't need to gain their advice before I offer that.
You have run away, I asked you simple direct questions. I have the decency to answer, I merely ask that you do the same.

Just because you aren't getting the answer that you want it doesn't mean that people are running away.
You asked all those questions and I suggested that you contact the league as they are responsible for setting fixtures and would be able to give you the answers to your questions which have obviously upset you so much. I even pointed you in the right direction to get their contact details.
Now precious is there anything else you need?

Yes I do have some questions for you: do you think there should have been consultation with their fellow SATURDAY clubs when they decided to change from playing on a SATURDAY?
Do you think it's fair, that they could be playing teams who are unable to field their full strength sides because uni have decided to not play on a SATURDAY?
What times will the kick off be?
What will happen if an opposition club decides it's unavailable as it's not on the day they signed up to play on?
Do you think AU are trying to get prefferential treatment again?
Simple questions, get your running shoes on.

Do you think it's fair, that they could be playing teams who are unable to field their full strength sides because uni have decided to not play on a SATURDAY?
I think the players available for selection are an issue for the clubs concerned and I think you are raising a hypothetical
What times will the kick off be? I have no idea, again I believe that this is an issue that the league decides
What will happen if an opposition club decides it's unavailable as it's not on the day they signed up to play on?
The fixtures are decided by the league, I'm sure they have processes in place to determine what happens in this eventuality.
Do you think AU are trying to get prefferential treatment again?
I don't believe that they are trying to get preferential treatment, when have they received it in the past?
Simple questions, get your running shoes on.
I appreciate that you usually like to weasel out of things but the answers are there for you to see.
