Very proud to have had the privilege of coaching one of the U14 Girls teams today.
I have to admit that the quality of all teams was higher than I might have expected but it was great to be involved in games where the ball is played from the back to feet and progressed to the oppositions half to create a goal scoring opportunities.
Nice to see the girls enjoying the tournament regardless of winning or losing - everyone focusing on the style of play- not the result.
Well done to the FFSA for a great weekend,

'The football philosophy' of playing out from the back, maintaining posession and creating goal scoring opportunities was pleasing to see.

It was embraced by players and coaches alike and made for some entertaining football, albeit slightly pre-arranged by appearance. Not that that was a huge concern as we need to walk before we can run when adopting this style of play. The eveness of the competition was good to see and with the majority of the games ending up as close fought contests, made for some enjoyable viewing.

Well done to the coaches for embracing the style and concept and not getting lost in the 'win at all costs' mentality and for the players to listening and adapting to new ideas.

Very Entertaining football, U12, U14 and 16's all showing some excellent passages of play. Each game saw an improved level of play, our future Lady Reds!

Below are the lists of the players selected as sent out to clubs today, all the below are fulltime for season 2014. Shame the FFSA didnt include naming the players in the newly formed 2014 U14/15 Development Squad in the same email. It would have been nice if they would have been included as well since they are still part of the state program... very poor from the FFSA I think
