Div 2 Review

Post by Gully#20 »

Who was the best team you have played all year? Florina by far well deserves champions congrats fellas (grove, Easties were next best teams).

Who has provided the best hospitality? Florina chicken wings and beers were a treat followed by munno para!

Which team has the best supporter group? Florina pulled a good crows today but munno para always pull a crowd for our rival games

Best pitch to play on? Not many this year due to weather but certainly not para hills lions

Worst pitch? Para hills lions by far should be illegal. Think I found some parsley growing on it at some stage.

Best player? CM and CB for florina and midfielders in grove team definetly gave us trouble.

Worst player? A certain John butler look a like from a b grade game 2 weeks ago.

Best goal? Florinas "lucky" scored a cracker on his last game today which is up there with the best.

Good luck to all teams next year n party hard in silly season. Predicting knights to come straight back down with only a handful of points n Easties, grove and gully all pushing the relegated div 1 teams for promotion in 2014.

Best A's - Florina and Grove B's Brahma and Gully
Best Hospitality - Florina, Gully and East
Best Supporters - After yesterday, would have to be Brahma must have had a few hundred
Best Pitch - Munno Para's
Worst Pitch - Lions was a shocker - Blue Eagles small pitch and our small pitch not much better
Best Player - Tom Foglia has been excellent, plus Docherty for Florina and Lyndsay and (despite the piss take) Cutting for Grove - oh and Florina keeper was quality
Worst Player - at my age and stage - probably me
Best Goal - Free kick Grove scored to equalise absolute cracker

Grove and East and Munno Parra , together with one out of the two relegated teams to battle for promotion and Knights will need to work very hard to avoid relegation - But we are going up!!!!!

Who was the best team you have played all year? Florina by an absolute mile

Who has provided the best hospitality? Florina

Which team has the best supporter group? Eliz Grove had the biggest we played against and Munno Para always love to give us a bit of stick from the sidelines. Still can't go past our own supporters though. Even when it is just the girls playing we seem to get a fair few out

Best pitch to play on? TTGs at the start of the year was pretty good

Worst pitch? Para Hills

Best player? Foglia is class in front of goals and Dale Witzman in our team was solid all year

Worst player? St Didacus when he came on and conceded a goal with his first and only touch for the season. Retirement soon followed.

Best goal? Munno Para's equaliser at their ground was a cracker

Another year gone and who knows what 2014 will hold so I won't make any bold predictions as yet. Brahma showed again this year we are in desperate need of a striker if we want to mix it with the higher placed teams but overall a pretty enjoyable year with theBs, Cs and Girls all winning their respective leagues. Well in to the players and coaches; Scotty Hamilton, Ronnie Neve and Tin Crawford!

Sunday Div 8

Who was the best team you have played all year? Brahma and then daylight

Who has provided the best hospitality? Well, we didn't follow our As and Bs much, but Brahma always dish up a decent feed.

Which team has the best supporter group? "Best" - as far as rivalry this season - Grove. As for numbers - Brahma and Grove

Best pitch to play on? Munno Para small pitch because, well it was small and we don't like running in the Cs.

Worst pitch? Imvros (sorry guys, not that it was THAT bad, just wasn't as good as the others)

Best player? Brahma's number 9 - Lynch

Worst player? It's C Grade, there are no bad players, just lots who try hard

Best goal? TTG midfielder scored a 40 yard cracker against us

Will enjoy following the As and Bs again now that we are back in Div 1.

Who was the best team you have played all year? Florina took the pi$$ all year and deserved it thoroughly.
Who has provided the best hospitality? Toss up between Grove boys and Munno Para. Grove just by way of a mean burger.
Which team has the best supporter group? Munno Para. Always vocal and have great support home and away.
Best pitch to play on? Can actually not remember playing on one decent pitch all years. Ours (TGG) was alright for maybe a game or two but all in all everyone's was appalling.
Worst pitch? Para Hills by far. They have somehow managed to make a hybrid soccer-cricket-7aside pitch. Blue Eagles was pretty average for a federation standard pitch as well.
Best player? Couple of Grove boys knocked the ball around well. Didn't notice a real standout however though.
Worst player? Won't mention anyone.
Best goal? The guy who retired from for Florina on the weekend scored an absolute belter. Either that or Southern Knights goal against us at their ground. Nice little turn and curler into the top corner from outside the box.

Can't wait for next season already. Will probably be even tighter in that midtable section than this year.

Who was the best team you have played all year? Florina, easily.

Who has provided the best hospitality? Grove. Followed closely by Munno Para. Unless hospitality includes change rooms, in which Grove goes dead last haha.

Which team has the best supporter group? Munno Para support is always big and loud!

Best pitch to play on? Probably TTG, a lot of terrible pitches this year!

Worst pitch? Para hills lions was atrocious, followed closely by Blue Eagles in which there was barely any grass.

Best player? CM (18) for Florina, standout in both games we played them.

Worst player? Do referees count?

Best goal? 'Lucky' from Florina on the final Day, or Sam Merrett's left foot screamer when he came on as a sub early in the year for TTG.

Pretty up and down year with a lot of controversy throughout the whole division at both ends. Florina are clearly deserved champions with next years fixtures hotting up to be even tighter than this years. Looking forward to seeing who comes down next week after the Beach/Fulham relegation battle blockbuster!

Who was the best team you have played all year ? Elizabeth Grove & Salisbury Florina.

Who has provided the best hospitality ? Munno Para, Para Hils East, Elizabeth Grove, Tea Tree Gully, Salisbury Florina, Brahma Lodge...hard to choose best...

Which team has the best supporter group ? Brahma Lodge...big, loud, colourful and passionate!

Best pitch to play on ? West Beach (cup game) Para Hills East early in season!

Worst pitch ? Unfortunately Para Hills, Blue Eagles rear pitch + Knights ground v Beograd ( Both Gully and Lodge's goal posts are probably 15cm too short )

Best opposition player ? Mark Kelly (Grove), Brad Docherty (Florina), Brett Cutting (Grove) & Jamie Hart (Florina).

Worst player ? :|

Best goal ? Reece Sinclair from the Grove (free kick), Jamie Faulkner for Knights against Tea tree Gully.

Poor year off the park for Southern Knights, injury, discipline, training, apathy and disappearances but reasonable year on the park (av 3.3 goals per game ) ...Florina had the wood over Knights twice and deserve the Champions title... but if not for a late penalty against us at the Grove, Knights might have snatched the Division on goal difference (but it wasn't to be) !
Traditionally Florina have the ability to attract a few players (which they will need to compete at the next level). Knights core players are getting older and they will need to attract quite a few key players to add depth and make them more competetive. San Marco and Macedonia will trouble a few of the sides remaining in Division 2 next year but I expect Elizabeth Grove and Para Hills East to also be in the push for promotion. Not sure how Pontians will rebound...if West Beach drop they will also be around the promotion race but if Fulham drop they will take a little longer to rebound.
Relegated Para Hills Lions should also be competetive in Division 3 and Beograd...who knows ?

Div.2 would certainly be the hardest division in the league by far to stay in & to gain promotion always having 2 relegated Div.1 Clubs come back & then 2 of the Best Div.3 sides come up. In recent history the 2 Div.1 side yo-yo in & out, which makes the Knights season exceptional & next season a Huge challenge. Florina were always coming straight back up because of there Clubs experience in Div.1 & knowing what it takes to stay in the top Division will hold them in good stead. I'm a little concerned for Pontians & there move to Paralowie with loads of Strong Div.1 & 2 sides around them, I really think they will struggle unless they get a good coach with Div.1 experience that can attract players. Division 1 presents a massive hurdle for most promoted clubs because established Div.1 Clubs just know what it takes & know how to consolidate a season.

Who was the best team you have played all year? Well Southern Knights were the only team to beat us twice this year but Florina were the best team we have played

Who has provided the best hospitality? P/Hills East had some good food and great bunch of lads, also a special mention to Florina chicken wings.

Which team has the best supporter group? Well can't go passed Munno Para v Brahma Lodge at MP this year, huge support for both sides, this rivalry has got to be up there with one of the biggest it the amateur.

Best pitch to play on? There was no real stand out but thought ours was good all year

Worst pitch? Para hills lions by far should be illegal

Best player(s)? M.Kelly (Grove), B.Docherty (Florina), D.Mooney (Knights) K.Armstrong (Munno Para)

Worst player? Don't have one

Best goal(s)? Liam Harts goal for MP Vs Brahma was a cracker, Chris Doolan's goal for MP Vs P/Hills Lions was another cracker, i think it was TTG left back Vs MP was a well taken volley, Rhys Sinclair free kick for Grove Vs MP also well taken

And maybe one year we will actually beat you. Reckon you guys have had the wood on us for quite some time now. But agree, great rivalry with plenty of 'banter' being thrown across the pitch
