Instant Impact - Brett Cutting
Today at the Grove's 6-1 demolition of Beograd those lucky enough to be at the game, saw an absolute masterclass from Grove's new signing, Brett Cutting.
After starting the season with Modbury Jets Soccer Club the dynamic centre back seamlessly adjusted into 'amateur league' conditions leading the Grove to their biggest win of the season. However this is all old news for the club's former 'Best & Fairest' winner having led the team to the first division during the 2010 season. Much to the disappointment of the Peckers, Brett then went on to ply his trade in England deciding that the only way left to challenge himself was abroad. With many questioning Brett's aspirations and ability it quickly became Brett's number 1 goal to shut-up those naysayers. He did so in style, receiving multiple individual accolades and becoming the focal point of thes club's championship winning side.
Having now returned to Adelaide, Brett keen to showcase his abilities sought refuge at Playford City Soccer Club. Brett, notorious for being a dominant figure in the changerooms, clashed with Playford's young coach Steven De Giovanniello and left the club on a distasteful note. However, still looking to further hone his skills as a footballer, Cutting decided to make the trek up the hill to Modbury Jets. Under the guidance of newly appointed coach Jason Trimboli, Brett flourished making the left back spot his own. However late last week this fairytale came to a sudden halt with Brett deciding to reevaluate his priorities. Much to the dismay of Modbury, Cutting decided to place a greater importance on his teaching career thus lacking the time and energy to give his best at Modbury.
Cutting looking to still maintain his fitness and well being, came to the conclusion that a more 'relaxed' attitude to soccer would be beneficial to him. Having multiple ties to Elizabeth Grove Soccer Club, Brett signed for the Peckers just in time for their do-or-die game against Beograd seeking give to the club in which he has already given. With a performance worthy of the title 'League's Best Player' Cutting led from the back marking his debut in style.

Sounds like he just chucked it into the "too hard basket" like many more in the past......at least most of the top ex fed players that have graced the amateur league have given it a red hot go and have proven themselves consistently over many years. Good luck to him and Grove anyway.

Good to see Brett's mum follows Football news, probably also explains why he didn't sign until after Mothers Day

Let's not forget that Grove also have a former Las Palmas player and also a player from last year's Double winning Downs side.
Grove will pick up quite a few points in the second half of the season.

Re: Instant Impact - Brett Cutting
Is this the same Brett Cutting who was dropped or subbed on almost every occasion at Modbury, or am I getting confused with a different player. If so, except my apologies.

Re: Instant Impact - Brett Cutting
Clearly now I see the problem with the Grove.
There are too many teachers, managers and full time job holders with in the club.
I remember the good old days when Centrelink was the major sponsor of the club.
