Good or bad? Can't believe Shorty appointed him but I love him, he brings a bit of fun and controversy to the league.
Daily Mail wrote:Dave Bowman, chairman of the supporters’ club Greater Manchester branch, said he was stepping down from his position and would not be returning to the stadium while Di Canio was in charge.
Mr Bowman, a Sunderland fan since his first game in 1958 and season ticket holder since the Stadium of Light opened in 1997, believes Short may not understand the deep feelings of some supporters.
He said: `It feels like a bereavement. The backbone of the support is working class and this is an appalling appointment.
'How can we have a Nelson Mandela Day at the stadium and the following day appoint a self-confessed fascist with, I believe, a Mussolini tattoo? It is hypocrisy.’
"The game is about glory, doing things in style and with a flourish, going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."

"So Paolo, do you think there's going to be a language barrier problem getting your tactical messages across?".
"Probably," replied Di Canio. "But if I speak English slowly and surely, hopefully these weird talking Mackems will understand what the fuck I'm saying."

He did wonders at Leicester Celtic and villa, you are well off the mark here
Didn't see it coming; but it was justified. Short deserves better than where we are of the investment he's made over the past two windows.
Di Canio wouldn't be my first choice, but he'll be good for a laugh and will play good football.
But why now? A 1 nil loss to united with a token bramble own goal is an acceptable result considering, a loss to reading would have it a lot more justified

C'mon DOC. Take them rose sunnies off will ya. His side sits 5th bottom and only a solitary point from the drop. And you are going to say honestly it's not justified.......

His question is valid though. Why now?
Are man u that poor a side that you sack someone for losing to them.
Obviously, he was sacked before this game and his replacement found, they jsut hadn't told him.

No wins in the last 8.......
This includes losses to the likes of; Reading, QPR and a draw with Norwich..... All games in my opinion we should have won. MO'N is a great manager and I am sad to see him go, he unfortunately didn't work out. As a Sunderland fan I will move on and back Di Canio with the same enthusiasm I did when MO'N took over from Steve Bruce.
The cattle are there, Larsson Gardner Fletcher Sess. Rose Mignolet can all play football, I don't care if Sunderland appointed a chain smoking hamster with one leg and a bad French accent that no one could understand....... As long as we are in the top flight next year.

Nice try
what do you mean? Push a ref like that and you would get a lifetime ban if you did that in an amateur league in England, why didn't he get the same?

Hardly touched him, Alcock has a balance problem.

He put his hands on the ref. GUILTY!![/quote]
Not at all, saw the ref was a bit unsteady then, as the ref looked like falling, tried to grab him to help him stay upright.

There's no degree to touching an official. Either you do it or you don't. di canio did, end of.
