Their still needs to be some work done with the federation cos we want to be able to field a 1st team and ressies team. If we cant get them both in div 3 sat, then we may stay on Sunday Div 1
Aldo, U can still count us in on the Eastern Suburbs shield cos we still have our club based in that suburb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must've been the only one who didn't know.
I wonder how the "visionaries" down a metroland feel now, first a shafting from a bunch of girls now a shafting from a bunch of amateurs!

Diegom first you say that you are officially in div 3 sat. comp. then a few hours later you say you may still be in div 1 sunday. So are you trying to say that Villa COULD be in div 3 sat IF the saasl allows you to play your ressies? One of the worse kept secrects but from what you have posted still really cant be confirmed. Also heard that you have lost a few players and will move leave or arrive with your possible venture into a sat. league?

Cos we want to play with 2 teams A's & B's. If the federation cannot accomodate that, we will not move from sunday. I was told by the secretary that we are able to move to sat now that we have a new ground to play on.
Ok maybe I was a bit premature about the sat div 3, but most committe members at Villa and players are eager for a sat switch.

Hmm, dont know yet diegom... we have plenty of interest from clubs that 'play' in the Eastern Suburbs. And are you guys associated with the Altavilla Club still? I assume that is what you are referring too.diegom wrote:Their still needs to be some work done with the federation cos we want to be able to field a 1st team and ressies team. If so, why did you have your presentation at one of our clubs a couple of seasons ago?

Speaking to Pepp, I think he felt the Metro power brokers were extremely disappointed as a lot of the Villa boys have Metros background and it would've suited both clubs to have the amateur side at T.Ks..Aldo Serena wrote:Dada, I have sent you a pm.
Stargazer, from your point of view, are Metro disappointed it hasn't worked out or was it a mutual agreement that Villa left?
Also Metrostars are trying to keep players that retire from federation and the ones that don't quite cut it within the ranks that's why when Villa needed help last year they went out of their way to accomodate them.
Having said that, the hand shake agreement was always only for one season and to be reviewed before 2007.
So, disappointing, yes but nothing sinister about it. Once the Villa boys made the decision to LOOK at being more than an amateur club then it made sense that they move on.
I do believe Metro will be looking to have a Sunday playing amateur club for the reasons above.

Yeah, it's an interesting situation... I thought Villa were making a good move going down the same track as us and San Marco have done with our respective federation clubs, but obviously the new breed have different ideas. Hoepfully the move away from their traditional geographic area will not affect the club too much.

New younger guys on the committee and now can actually make plans for the future. As much as pap was a legend at Villa and poured his heart out and worked really hard to run the club, the committee believes that a NEW FRESH approach is needed to make the future of Adeliade Villa a long and prosperous One. Pap is still in the committee and PLAYS a very crucial role in running the club. The move geographically had to be made as the club needed a ground to play on.

SUlmona,
I bet your village was real disappointed when you made your move to Australia because obviously they were deprived of their village idiot. The crap you talk on here is without equal and i never brokered any deal nor was i "embaressed". I can't play SAturdays due to work commitments and wouldn't mind dropping a couple of divisions as my body ain't what it used to be, of course only if that fits in with you have heard!!!!!

I was at one meeting with Metro the year b4 this went ahead. Is that brokering a deal? I think not. I have not been on committee for 2 years.sulmona wrote:I thought what I predicted here 4 weeks or so ago has all proven to be correct.
In so far as being involved in stiching the deal with Metro last year, if you tell me that you weren't involved, I'll take you on your word!.
