So I wonder who his replacement will be? Will they promote internally or conduct a search?

Nice bloke however what will he be rememberred for? The Matildas not making the Women's World Cup or the Olympics? Was it his fault or was he handicapped with a poor group from which to select players from who were supposed to be developed by the State's NTC? Maybe the latter for SA.

All the best Tom.

An Asian Cup and 2 World Cup Quarter Finals is a poor return?! Need I remind you we are Australia?

LL, don't know why you're surprised- nobody can win on this forum. Sermanni wins the Asian Cup at takes Australia to 2 WC quarters and that's just not good enough. The Lady Reds get off to a strong start and it's all because the competition "is a glorified Prems competition".

That's just what this forum is about.

Half glass full or half empty. As with the mens Socceroos squad....its slim picking’s. I think that although the matildas have one a tournament or game here and there, its what’s coming up from below to replace or supplement existing members that has us all worried. All due respect to the man, I think the USA job was damn good to turn down. The future and breadth of players available to him eclipses Oz. Shame because we have / had an asset that is being poorly managed and the pool of players that have the ability and are ready to step up is diminishing.

The Socceroos are suffering in this department too because the talent pool is shallow.

All the best Tom. You did the best you could with what you had.
