Strange, I am assuming they would have used some little airfield somewhere in hertfordshire and norfolk. Otherwise the nearest airport to the training ground is stanstead and the nearest airport to norwich is stanstead.

The club chartered a private plane to make the 97-mile journey on Friday evening from Luton Airport to Norwich and the players were in the air for just 14 minutes.

Wenger insisted engineering works on the train line between London Liverpool Street and Norwich on Saturday were the problem.

He said: “Usually, we take the train and there was no train available so we decided to fly.

“We would have had to have driven up on the Friday afternoon and wouldn’t have known how long it would have taken.”
