Re: State Teams 2013
I think we need to let them finish this season first, get w-league selected, then we can expect some decisions about next year. I would suspect that trials would be held after STIC sometime, and the plan for 2013 will have been sorted by then, in late October/early November.
I think that this year has been a vast improvement over previous years in that the teams are playing together all year. The results of the national tournaments have born this out. There is some concern, all around I think, about the amount of training and number of games being required, especially of the younger players, when they are required to play mid week for the state team and then again on the weekend for their clubs. Perhaps there will be some sort of solution proposed, I don't know.
On the whole I personally think things are on the right track. Sad Gal?

Re: State Teams 2013
The word going around is there may be a permanent under 14's state side in 2013 similar to this years under 15/16's team.
This team may play as a reserves team.
If this happens, women's soccer will elevate to a new and exciting level. Absolutely great for women's soccer.
The end result would be players will become an elite athlete with excellent technical abilities and in turn be able to represent a stronger Adelaide United Women's team.
It will also be great for the future soccer in South Australia and it will compel the National Selectors to look closely at our state players.
Cmon FFSA, if this is true, go for it. I am right behind this and I can say that alot of other players and parents are for it as well.
I would imagine that the clubs would support it as well as one day the players will return to their respective clubs as elite players who can then in turn be mentors to the younger players and pass on their experience.
SA Great

That would be great for the future of womens football in SA. You can really see the improvement in the current U15/16 team since playing a full year with the Prems........I hope the clubs dont put a stop to it.
