Good skills displayed by both teams today in the Cumby/FFSA under 15"s. The game was played at a high pace all day and when the rain did come the ball started to skid as it hit the ground making it difficult for players. Emma Checker's header was a beauty getting really high off the ground to put the ball in the left hand corner. She got that high she had her head in the clouds LOL. Was a very good game with a good display of football by both teams.

Excuse my ignorance, but who picks best on ground? Is it the coaches or the refs?

The coaches vote for the best players on their teams, the Referee's vote on a 3, 2, 1 basis the best players for that game. The Ref's votes go towards the player of the year award.

WOW, what happened there? Did Uni play their U17 or did they want to prove a point by not scoring 10 goals? LOL
Well done to PH great to see these teams doing well in the Prems vs the "Champions to be".

Based on the team list published on Friday, Adel Uni had 6 U17 players listed in the Premier League squad.

Before making comments like that Neyma, you might want to do your homework.

And to double check, I understand that those 6 players were in the squad on match day.

Do these players play in the U17 team or they are they just "under 17 years of age" but are actually premier players? Many Prem teams have young players who could be eligible for U17...so in actual facts Uni wouldn't really be moving players up :P

Reason why it's interesting is that if instead they are "real" U17s (who normally play in the U17 squad) they can't all go back to their squad on the same game...! This would be another "screw up" from Uni...

Here are the rules from FFSA:

43. Player Movement
(1) Once a player has been named on a Premier Division Team Sheet, the player will be classed as a
Premier Division player
. A Premier Division player may only move down to the Reserve Division. If
the Premier Division Team does not field a Reserve Division Team, a maximum of three Premier
Division Players may move down to the next lowest division that their club fields in any given
round.
(2) All other open age divisions, a maximum of three players may move down in any one given round.
Players can only move down to the next lowest division that their club fields.
(3) All players that are eligible to play in the Junior Competitions, this being a player that does not
turn 18 years of age in the year of competition, have free movement between competitions if age
permits. A player does not have to be playing in the Junior League to be eligible under this ruling.
If the junior player is classed as a Premier Division player as outlined in clause 1, the club may
only move a maximum of three junior players down in any given round
.

So if that's true (that they actually played U17s) then only a max of 3 at the time can play down from now on. Interesting situation...but for some reason I don't think they were "real" U17, just young prems :D

I see only 3 out of 5- anyone at the cumby game will tell you it wasn't a belting at all, but a fairly even match. score probably should have been 2-1 at worst. As for the other games, they are bona fide Prems sides playing sides that would have been in the state league in any other year. I actually think that comp is going pretty well. Only two of the ten teams are really struggling week in week out. Pretty impressive that knights held Uni to 1-0.

And to address the whole uni 'moving players up' argument, most of the players on that team list play Prems regularly, or at least reserves even though they may be eligible to play 17's. They are young players in the senior program there. Let's not see evil doing where there is none.

Uni only scored from a penalty which really should have been a free kick as the tackle was made just outside the box. Good result from Knights regardless!

Good effort Para Hills! Even if they have young players in the squad, Uni remain the team to beat this year (with Fulham IMO) and have an impressive line up. Holding them up is going to be hard for every team and is a great result for a team like PH that joined the Prems doing the right thing to their girls and look at building on their own strengths. Well done to coach, players and their very respectable club.
