Adelaide Uni forfeit and fine

Post by Captn birdseye »

Adelaide Uni Div 3 fielded an unregistered player round 1 against Flinders Uni and a forfeit and fine will be imposed on Adelaide University and a 3 nil win will be awarded to Flinders

Good to see Adelaide Uni starting the season up to thier old tricks!

I've actually heard of another "issue" last week with the same club involved...

Don't tease, what was the issue?
The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

If nothing else it is good to see discussion outside of prems
I am curious why the animosity towards uni?
I dont know the history but is it just that ?

Reason I ask is my daughter joined uni res and all i have seen so far is people trying really hard to get everything ready for season start and I am surprised with the above comments.

Who really goes out of the way to delib field unreg players? Forget the fines but if someone is injured
you're talking huge legal issues let alone no cover for the unregistered player.

If it did occur then it may have been inadvertant but still frought with risk.

I won't say what "issue" I heard about because I wasn't there and don't want to make names, but it's something very similar to this...

If you're not prepared to to say it why mention it in the first place?
I don't just want to have my cake and eat it, I want to go back for cheesy biscuits and tiramisu.

Given the amount of teams and players in the leagues one unregistered is not too bad.
However I do find it interesting that a club would not have a process in place to ensure that all players are registered before season start.
The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

Why is this on the forum? The only people that would be aware of this are the FFSA, AU and potentially Flinders.

Know the facts before commenting.

AU played a girl who had issues registering online.

Its probably on the forum because of social media.
And the facts are? How about you tell every one.
Once again THE CLUB should have checked that all players were eligable to play regardless of the reasons.
Also Flinders are allowed to play prems in DIV 3 as per the rules and they may have needed match time, how is this a problem?
Other clubs including UNI have done this before and will continue to do so.

I just stated the fact above. The online process was new.

Captn Birdseye, from whom did you receive this information? It seems irresponsible and flagant that before the club even gets the opportunity to discuss the issue with the FFSA it is up here.
