Elite league format

Post by Easy Tiger »

Has anything been decided with the leagues' format? Ppl in clubs are waiting to know what's happening with the league
I heard that the Reserves may be put in a different division and have to play at different location from the Prems??? Is this true?
I also heard Sturt are back with the old Olympic players,is this true? Good luck if it is!

No disrespect..but you don't need to dress something up to make it palatable. Its looks, smells and tastes like a lemon...so its a lemon.

Shrink the league. consolidate the teams, Centralise games to one purpose built venue and pool resources and try and build some owenrship of the game by those who stand to gain from it. engage those players who have left the comp over the years...they have a huge amount of intel that could be utilised. Some of them would love to be involved...instead of staying away.

The boffins in FFSA (in their defence) are only guessing what window dressing they can do to make it seem as if they're doing something whilst the clubs are doing very little outside of their own patch to "grow" the game.

I've put my views across countless times. Millions of times.

Window dressing won't fix the rot.

LOL! I was only trying to get some information about what is decided with the Prem, Reserves and State leagues. I think you just went off the topic here...

You hear so many things across the board and you just get confused! Some say FFSA want to play the reserves in the state league with the clubs that only have one team, but I think if they make play the reserves away from the Prems it's gonna hurt clubs because a few clubs don't have 28-30 players for the two teams every week. Someone else told me that instead it will be a whole league with prems and state league clubs going into playoffs. If this is true, what happens with the reserves? What do they do when, say Cumberland play Toros if they don't have a reserve team? I'm just saying, the league is supposed to start in 3or 4 weeks and we still don't have a clue of what league it's gonna be. At the moment, Fulham and Uni have all the players, other clubs struggle and nobody has any idea of what's gonna happen with the league.

Don't come back with comments on Fulham and Uni, this is not about one or two clubs. But really, what's with the league? Is it even worth playing? Ppl complain that girls are not committed and stuff, but how can you commit if you don't even know if there's gonna be a league...

Best thing I've read on the womans forum in a long time. Being a former coach in the woman's game I feel so sorry for the talented woman out in the community who don't know where they stand a month out from season kick off... Why is it so hard FFSA?

Affiliation Forms were only due in this week and 99% of clubs have of course have lodged their forms at the very last second...

How can you expect FFSA to make a final decision on who is playing where when they dont even know 100% who is putting in affiliation forms, for what division and for how many teams...

Yeah they would have a rough idea but until its done and signed in black and white from the club then what more can we expect!

I'm sick of hearing about the moaning and groanings on here - the womens division alone would have what 70+ senior teams over 8 divisions (Incl. Prems, Reserves and State) then U17 league, 3x U15 leagues 2-3x U13 leagues, U11 and U9....

That's a lot of bloody teams and a sh|t load of paper work and a lot of organisation...

Let them do their job and we will all know in the next few weeks.... sheesh!!!

Agree 100%
With a lack of stability at clubs at this level (especially this year) FFSA can't be expected to know what's going on until the clubs nominate the teams.

The deadline was 28 Feb 12 but whats the bet that some clubs still have not submitted the paper work as was the case last year, they then extended the deadline.
Season starts 25 Mar, plenty of time :)
The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

So many moan's and groan's ...

If the FFSA brought the deadline forward clubs would want to (need to) make changes after the program was prepared .

The biggest issue for clubs trying to forward plan is the transient attitude of such a large percentage of the players.
If 1/2 the girls who have played in multiple clubs in the last 2/3 years showed a tiny bit of loyalty to a club and were prepared to go through a hard patch for a year or two it would make a world of difference.

Im sure the FFSA will have a program out within a week , giving the clubs 3 weeks to finalise teams.
