Thailand v. OZ, Tues. 15/11/11 @ 9.30pm Foxsport 1

Post by Con »

Having listened to a prickly-sounding Holger declare Rhys Williams fit & Sasa O. sort of criticize the line-up in Oman, I think he'll start with the following:

...................Kennedy................

...................Holman..................

McKay.............................Wilkshire

..............Valeri.......Jedinak..........

Zullo......Neill.......Spiranovic...Williams

...................Schwarzer.................

It will be interesting to see if Thailand run us off our feet like they did in Brisbane. Bangkok will have double the humidity.

I'm hoping for 0-0 & qualification for the next round.

Yeah, it's a hard one to predict Bomber.

ps, are you surprised not much interest in this game? OK, the Oman match was on @ midnight. But this one is prime time @ 9.15pm. What's your take on the reason?

Maybe people see it as a formality. I relish any opportunity to watch Australia play, especially important games. Thing is, Thailand do play at least a brand of watchable football.
Game's only 15 mins in but good to see the ref not get sucked in with players falling over and letting the game flow (so far).

Zullo getting murdered at left back. Holger may have to look at this as the danger from them has come from his side. And we need more than just crosses to Kennedy's head (albeit he came close to scoring from such).

God we are so average. Our midfield needs a major shake up.... Zullo is not of international quality.

Don't gauge interest by posts on footballnews....Most of my mates are perched in front of the set.

I usually couldn't be bothered posting when games are on....

The Thai boys are playing very well, Australia look rattled but I think the break will do them good and will finish the job in the 2nd half.

I agree with Ange....The central defence is doing nothing to help him...Neil and Jedenak need to lift their games in my opinion.

Thais playing quite well but my god we are pathetic. Theres no game plan, just playing pass by pass with no forward thinking beyond the next pass. Id hatevto see us playva decent team.

Australia's best eleven we have at hand at this minute and it's very, very ordinary.

Lacking conviction with our passes, Valeri especially. Crab footballer!!!!

Gotta step up here surely, seem to be lacking spark in the humidity.

Why so??? Has scored plenty of goals in crucial matches over the years. I personally think he only has a huge work ethic. But choose to say nothing as he will always cause problems for defenders.

What is sadder is your national team is winning in a game in which only a draw is needed and yet people still find a reason to whinge.

Holman does have a good work ethic and he had a few great games in the World Cup which changed my image of him.

However, in saying that he's very hot and cold.

I just think for Australia to take our team to the next level, we need to play better than that against lower opposition.

Unfortunately, theres very little in the way of upcoming players too.

Job done, sure!! Great!!

But it doesnt inspire confidence

Phew! Outta jail. Gives our sport more profile/exposure in the bigger games of the next round.

Valeri & Jedinak have gotta play some forward passes. I wish we had a standout midfield general.

ps, wonder if Sasa O. has done his dash for speaking his mind...

pps, gotta concede Emerton played well. I really thought if Rhys Williams wasn't injured he would have been the right-back, Wilkshire right midf. & Emo on the bench. Interesting dilemma for Holger for the right side. Many question marks for the left-side.
