Remember way back to when Mary and her late husband Gordon set up the bar in the old clubrooms (where the Cricket Club is located)...must have been back in 1971 when the seniors began.
Mary Stevens is and lways was a tireless worker around th Elizabeth Downs Soccer Club.

Congratulations and very well deserved Mary. Met her a couple of times at the Downs but I must say haven't really had much of a chat with her as she never seems to stop working - a worthy Coopers Legend.

As a side, I've heard the Coopers legend ads on 5AA now for sometime and have been waiting to hear one with Mary since I read in the paper she was one, does anyone know if she is actually in one of those radio ads?

Hard to judge a winner so the winner was drawn at random from a hat, all 12 could have won. Major prize was a $2000 sporting holiday. Mary's choice if she won was to go to the Parafield vs East game this weekend to watch Easties hump the Gardens.

Alas she did'nt win so she will be content to read about it monday morning.

Back to reality all 12 chosen finalists were worthy of winning and how could you possibly judge who is more worthy.

If anyone gets a chance to listen to Anna Meares (cyclist) speak I would suggest you would come out with a never say die attitude. A true blue Aussie hero.

Come on nugget and marooned now you are taking the piss out of her hump on her back, after all she is near 80. Well done lizzy from prisoner it was drawn out of the hat and mary finished second. She said she had a cracking day toured the coopers establishment, had a cracking lunch, sat with shaun rehn during lunch, recieved boat loads of goodies and got a few sports stars to sign her book she was given. Brought back a couple of cartons of the coopers light which marooned glady wacked a 5 buck a piece price tag on them all because they were signed by mary. who drinks light guess we will sell them in the off season for 1 buck..
So come on fellas no more hump jokes about mary unless you are putting your hand up to....
