Referee gets fined
I heard from a good source on the weekend that a few weeks ago during a Sunday Premier Division match a referee changed his shirt so as not to clash at all with either side. This ref (an official of 25 years) was subsequently fined a number of $$$ by the referees association, and told that he was not to do it again or a harsher punishment would be served.
I'm not going to rant on about how good or bad referees are, or for that matter when this particular incident took place. It's more a case of WITHOUT referees, we cannot play football. WITHOUT referees we cannot have any competition that is run as fairly and as well as ours is.
The referee has since paid his fine however told the referees association that he will not partake in any officiating in the near future. SHAME ON YOU REFS ASSOC.

Re: Referee gets fined
The SAASRA made it very clear at the start of this season (and last) that refs were only supposed to wear their official shirts and would be fined if they were non compliant with this ruling.
Whilst it's ridiculous that one person should halt the game of 22 people, he knew the rule when he made his VERY SENSIBLE choice.
Perhaps the 2 teams that he allowed to have their game would like to chip in to pay the fine for him.

Re: Referee gets fined
Whilst that would solve it, so would the fact of clubs knowing that the refs only have a black and a yellow shirt and ensuring they don't clash as well.KING NUGGETT wrote:It's true & it's a absolute discrace just give all the referees a Fluro Pink shirt & be done with it....

As i said, I agree with you that it would fix it but it's not going to be fixed until next season at the earliest. I'd actually just give them 1 black shirt and tell all other clubs that they can't wear black - but that's another argument for another day.
In the meantime, clubs should ensure they don't clash with the ref. Pretty simple really.

talking with the ref yesterday he didnt need to changed tops so he wouldnt clash with the blue of the two clubs playing
he did in fact have a yellow shirt on it was just the wrong shade of yellow !!!

Re: Referee gets fined
then the company that made them should be fined, not the ref. If he bought the correct shirt, then that's not his problem.Rodent wrote:God is an Englishman wrote:so, it wasn't the proper shirt?

Re: Referee gets fined
Anyone thought for a second that it may be the wrong shirt? Wrong logo? Old logo?
Could a liverpool player play in a man u shirt if they were short? They are both red. Or a shirt from 10 years ago?
It might have been a referee's shirt, but if it was from another association, I can see why they may get grumpy.

Every ref gets inspected 3 or 4 times per season and now there are four people that got nothing to do but go and inspects the grounds for example how many c or b team ref do games, uniforms and rest. like sat and sun lower div and feed back the amateur league.

Re: Referee gets fined
I WATCH SIX GAMES BY NOW NOT GOING TO MENTION WHICH GAMES BUT SOME OF THE PLAYERS NEED TO PLAY THE GAME NOT WORRY ABOUT REF OR CLUB REF EVEN IF THE REF IS BIAS . WHAT YOU DO IS WRITE A REPORT TO THE AMATEUR LEAGUE WITH A PHOTO OF THE CLUB REF AND NO ARGUEMENTS.
Re: Referee gets fined
Seriously, who gives a shit. The Amateur League needs all the refs it can get.

Re: Referee gets fined
The referee had a referee shirt on regardless of whether it was a federation or amateur logo he was there to do a job and did it. the only reason he changed his shirt was so he didn't clash with one of the teams. It wasn't necessarily in the Macedonia vs Southern Knights match.
