Blatter hints at Brazil - PA Sport
FIFA president Sepp Blatter admits Brazil would be the ideal candidates to host the 2014 World Cup, although he is not yet willing to rule out a rival bid from Colombia.
The two South American nations are preparing to do battle in a bid to host the prestigious tournament, and Blatter admits Brazil's reputation in football has made them frontrunners.
"Brazil have titles, recognition and export excellent players to the rest of the world. It would only be natural that the World Cup returns to this country at a suitable time," Blatter told Globo News.
"And I think Brazil's will be the only candidature, but they have to pass all the tests," he added.
However, Blatter also confirmed the Colombian government had handed in their proposals and said FIFA would look at those in the coming months.
"We've received Colombia's reports," he added. "We will open those files at the end of the year, then we'll see what happens."
