they are not very instantaneous though are they, get a few results in here after the games have just finished but theres a slow trickle for the rest of them over the next couple of hours, i think a twiiter page would be easier to navigate to for a instant update for progressive scores and final results and then a post here to confirm results and comment

The idea with the twitter feed is to increase the ease with which people can post scores. The majority of smartphones have easily accessible twitter apps which means you can have scores delivered to your phone in real time as they're posted. The football news forums are great but really aren't mobile friendly if youre wanting to update via a phone. the twitter account can be viewed by anyone regardless of whether you have an account. because of the nature of twitter (140 character updates) it is perfect for updating on scores and can even extend the updating on half scores etc.

You really don't need to be twitter friendly. You don't have to post all you need to do is visit the page and you can view results as they arrive. Then repost results for discussion on the forums. its in no way a replacement for the forum, just filling the gaps for those that don't have a football news forum login.

same here, but has it has been posted most smartphones already have the twitter app installed, and to be honest most sundays i carn't be arsed navigating to these forums and looking for the sundays results thread to post the results in straight after the game. maybe those that use twitter on a regular basis could give the pros and cons for using the service for progressive and final scores

So far so good with twitter so far. The account has 24 followers now and growing. Some clubs have even started a twitter account which is great too see. It has been receiving some score updates but the more the merrier. a great initiative from southern knights is below:
