It’s been three days that have past since we lost at Old Trafford and I still feel gutted to be honest. Isn’t it strange how as time passes, one minute you feel really frustrated because we all know we had the run of form and momentum and should have gone there and taken the game to United, but then again, and I have said it on here before, the next minute we think back to our run of bad form and finding ourselves out of the Champions League places and hoping we can pick ourselves up and get back into the top four.
I guess that’s just football for you. It can give you such joy and in an instant can take it all away. All of us thought we had at least a chance to get a positive result at United, all of us knew we had it in us but I guess on more than one occasion this season, we have let ourselves down by under performing and that is what frustrates the likes of me and you so much.
All week on my blog (link below) I have been responding to the numerous comments I have had about changes needing to be made at the club with the playing staff and management because of one result and I guess that’s the fine line we are dealing with here. If we had won the game, everyone would be talking about getting behind the team, to make sure players were fit and well prepared to go into the two biggest games of our season. If we had won all three and won the league then all the media coverage of these so called reports of Chelsea looking for another manager would have been more or less put to bed. However, we are reading the need for numerous or wholesale changes at Chelsea and are reportedly being linked with untold signings in the summer.
I want to just point out to you the Chelsea fan reading this, there isn’t a lot wrong at Chelsea and our recent run of form is proof of that. Our manager won the Double in his first season, has had to cope with numerous problems on and off the pitch this season and had to deal with constant pressure and speculation about his position at the club. To his credit he has carried on working hard and has lifted everyone out of our slump and taken us back up the league into second and we sit in a healthy position with two games remaining. Of course there are two or three positions that need strengthening but that is all!
The club has already begun the process of regenerating the squad with three important signings for our future in Ramires, David Luiz and Torres in addition to the players we already have here that have a good few years left in them. This has been important for Chelsea this season and especially in the last couple of months as they have settled down into life at Chelsea.
Of course we are reading speculation about our big name players being linked with moves away from Chelsea in the summer but I want to remind you that Frank has only played half a season and Drogba has had to play suffering with Malaria. Other players suffered a dip in form which could happen to anyone and before Sunday looked to have put that right with some good performances.
Another post on my blog I wrote states that it is important that if Chelsea do look to rebuild and go again in the summer, we do not make the same mistakes as last summer so I simply cannot see a number of our experience players who have been key for Chelsea, leaving us. Being honest and I think the club realised as we suffered in November and December, we let too many go last summer and didn’t have enough depth to cope with the unprecedented amount of problems we were faced with.
To sum up all I want to say to you Chelsea fans is that I am as disappointed as you are with Sunday’s result but appeal to you all to ignore most of the rubbish being written about being linked with players left right and centre and speculation about our manager. We have to trust in Roman and the club that they realise there is only maybe two or three positions that need strengthening and to make sure we are fully prepared and looking strong again next season including what appears to be that important link man between the manager and the players.
Keep the faith, look ahead to the future and let’s get behind the lads for these two games to cement second place!

If the right offer comes in for Essien - Milan sniffing, he will be off I reckon.

It'll be interesting to see who stays and goes, I really hope Sturridge and Mceachran get more time next year, Mceachran especially, he's better than Mikel.
I think Essien might go, but it might also depend on who else leaves, I get the feeling the African contingent are all pretty close so guys like Kalou and Drogba leaving would probably cause him to leave too.
Is it the worst thing in the world ? Not really, watching alot of the games this year, the team seemed really stale.
I think the biggest transfer we can make is to get Zola in a coaching role, i think with his attacking mindset and Carlo's love of purchasing Brazilian players it might spice things up a bit next year.

Drogba leaving will be ahuge blow to the chelski.
U would hope that toressssss starts firing, next year

It's annoying that they both don't fit into any structure. If Drogba goes however ( To Madrid i'm betting), then i think the purchase made some sense.
If we do get Van der Viel and Eriksen like we've been reported to then it makes me think that Bosingwa is going to leave, and potentially Zhirkov too.
Alot of talk around getting Lukaku and Kaka`, but i really don't see the point with Torres, Lampard and maybe Drogba still around for another couple of years.
