Congrats to Gunning, really stood out after her first couple games. I would have thought Gorry would have won it or at least come second but the winner and runner/up were both also very good for the Lady Reds this season.

How indulgent is that? After another poor season "we" sit back and pat ourselves on the back and hand out F'en awards?

At least the coach didn't receive any awards.
I didn't think Popovic had that great a season and from what many of the spectators had said, (of those who bothered to watch the games) they always complimented Gorry and Gunning as being the players of the match. Even when Gorry wasn't playing well, she still strongly influenced the game, in my opinion, Popovic did not have the same effect.
Who chose the awards?

She was the standout by a mile for me, Gunning was probably the other player who stood out so I can understand her winning the award but still, I think Gorry was for more consistent and i dont think she really had a bad game from what I saw. Hopefully shes back in Red next season...themagnet wrote:
geez, who did Gorry piss off? She was a hugely influential player for Adelaide this season, can't believe she didn't come first or second

Also, why dont the youth and womens teams have presentation night with the A-League team?
Are Gerard and Griffin that fucking stingy that theydont want to put the clubs money towards the other 2 teams for a presentation night and dinner? If so, that is a fucking joke! People's team my ass

Pretty sure the coaches pick the MVP and choose best 3 each week...
and yes the board at AU decided that the A-League awards were just for the A-League players....
hence why the girls got an email to say they were not invited...
