Old Ignatians Soccer Club - Women's Team 2011

Post by Kitchimo »

OISC are endeavouring to start a women's team in 2011. We have had solid interest from many girls. The team will be entered into the lower social divisions of the FFSA.

The team will be holding its first training session Wednesday night, 16 February, 7:00pm at St Ignatius College. All are welcome. You do not need to be an old scholar of St Ignatius College to attend or play for us. In comparison, our men's sides have over 40 players that are not old scholars.

OISC are revisiting the possibility of a women's team in the 2012 season. We have had a few expressions of interest from potential players, but nothing solid yet.

Any new players interested, please PM me.

More information to come.

OISC is holding a meeting at the Glynde Hotel (492 Payneham Road) on Tuesday 21st February @ 7pm for any interested girls in joining this team.

The side will be playing in the FFSA Women's Collegiate League, that will commence this season for the first time.

Training once a week (possibly Wednesday) @ Glenunga, and playing on Sundays.

If you are interested, please attend the Glynde, or email secretary@oisc.com.au or call Daniel Rossi (Old Scholar 2005) <0418 167 878> or Nicholas Tallarida (Old Scholar 2005) <0431 187 167> for more information.

For real?! FFSA are having enough trouble with the leagues they've got, why are they starting up a new one?

its just a rebranding exercise ... one of the social leagues will disappear in its place and college sides will get to play each other week in, week out.

Sorry, Nuggett... I guess these girls should've been sent to an existing club struggling for numbers.

Isn't that how Old Iggies started up in the first place?
I don't just want to have my cake and eat it, I want to go back for cheesy biscuits and tiramisu.

To quote an old women's coach that we both know
You're hear to train for football not because you're too tight to go to Jenny Craig
