Exactly...its not like the club in question doesnt have a poor junior system, i think they have some great kids...which might explain why they leave to play prems at other clubs.Mrs Trainer wrote:Why is it that the larger clubs try and grab all the younger players. Does that mean they cant create great players from their own junior teams??
Doesnt that mean they should look at who is coaching their juniors and try and fix that way instead of taking the easy road out?
well maybe i shouldnt comment on this but at the zone championships a very silly person was parading about a player thats going over to there club right next to the players current coach i found this very unproffesional and at least wait to all the games and comps are finished before saying anything cause he made his club look like a circus
The main reason I see for poaching is results rather than for junior development.
Clubs and football organisations need to see that we are all on the same side. Let a junior play at a club he/she lives nearest to. The only choice about leaving should be made by the junior for genuine reasons. Some juniors want just a change. Others want to move to a club in a higher division - that's normal. Parents could argue it is because of fees.
I don't have a problem with poaching, providing all the reasons are stated up front. I have approached junior players in the past and told them that if they are happy where they are, stay there. If not, I'd be happy to have them in my team. And only after I knew I was losing several players and the team may be short for the following season. Not all clubs have huge attendances at trials. People should remember that.
There have also been occasions where I suggested a player move somewhere else for his development. It involved playing at a higher division and being noticed by state selectors. He made the State Team in SA and then moved to NSW and made that state team - so I'm happy.
Poaching I think is pat of the game, but it is still the choice of the player and parent to go. If they really are happy where they are, they wouldn't move clubs.
But poaching for results sake is just pathetic.

players changing clubs
In regards to junior players changing clubs, in most cases it is not the player but the parents who want them to move, generally because they feel they will get better coaching at another club. If you speak to parents of younger girls looking to change clubs, they will often complain that the development, overall social environment and coaching standard at their current club was poor hence wanting a change to a club with supposedly better coaches and a better development program of younger players. There is nothing wrong with this as there are many poor coaches in the junior grades. If you lived south why would you not prefer to be in the cumberland system rather than the south Adelaide System(no disrespect to SA), many more opportunities etc.
Parents are always looking for their girls to be coached by what they consider to be coaches who are good at developing players.

yeha but theres a loyalty rule that comes with all of that too...
iv contemplated leaving fulham (im not gunna lie) coz i thort it wld be beta for myself, that wld be selfsish for me to think of myself.. fulham have done everything for me, basically when i say jump they say how high.. thats how good they have been to me, its amazing.. and for me to up and leave :
a) i wld feel like sh1t
b) my parents wldnt be hapi coz iv been brought up to be loyal
c) all of the above!!
theres times when u think whats best for you, but theres also times when you have to consider loyalty and thats what a lot of ppl dont think of...
yeha i have my problems with fulham and iv looked at several different clubs even state league but since i havent been playing, iv been thinking just how good fulham were/are to me and i cldnt leave em...
im not just saying this coz its metro but a lot of players should really look at there club.. i personally think they have some tha most loyal girls playing for that club... tha work some ppl put into that club is outragious and tha girls just back it up, fair enuf they havent won a lot; but that comes with time..
and fulham u wldnt think anything goes on off tha pitch, we have a bunch of girls that there personalities clash at times (me, cj, gian) we all have strong personalities that its only normal for us to clash but when we hit tha football (SOCCER) field we wld die for each otha.. thats what some clubs lack too...
anyway iv just bull sh1tted for tha last half an hour so im gunna go now haha
peace out!

Metro is an incredibly loyal club not very many senior players have left in the 5 years i have played there.
at junior level though i think you should be looking at your future, things aren't meant to stay the same forever, if you can better your coaching or your chances of playing at higher levels then im all for it.
i left a club to go to metro that i was very loyal to at the time but i felt it was a move that i had to make to better myself.
