Titans are the new Navarino.
Vipers FC are now Vipers FC.

Because it's 14 pages long, and it's hard to find where the discussion regarding the new season starts?Funky Punk wrote:So why not use his thread?blackout wrote:In the words of the great Kitch.....

Right, oops. Vipers/Titans Fixed. I got confused with all the corporate speak on that thread. Lets imagine that never happened.
Personally, I'm looking forward to the mini road trip to Hahndorf. It's been a few years since we have played them, but when we do, they play hard and fair, and the pubs up there are great.
My early, completely uninformed opinion on teams pushing for promotion are (in no particular order) Uni, USC, Vipers, MA Hawks.

And it was two weeks old. I don't have the patience to search for dead threads.

New season, new thread!
I agree with your predictions blackout. Adelaide Uni to win it. If Vipers retain most of their squad then they'll be around the mark, they did play some nice football last year despite their position. USC Lion I think will be up there, although I'm basing that on the fact that for many years they were a strong Sunday Div 1 side. MA Hawks were up there last year so I wouldn't expect any different. Don't really know much about the other sides.

Budapest should be right up there this year .. more depth and some good added youth .... and dont think there will be too many customary thrashings of the B's ... well not as many anyway
Re: Saturday Div 2 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
I tend to agree with Tibbaw, Uni would be strong favourites followed by Hahndorf, USC Lion & Vipers.
Again Vipers were a decent side last year and played football (which was probably their downfall), Hahndorfs reserve side made the cup final so they must have a reasonable amount of talent. USC Lion can't be discounted either with some of their experienced players as well as their rumoured recruits from Sturt Marion.
Again this is a fairly uneducated post due to not knowing any other the other teams in any great depth or there being any significant amount of trial games.

I have been advised that Vipers have lost a few very good players I think 8 starting A's have moved on so I’d say they would need a very strong recruitment strategy to be as strong as they were over the last 2 seasons. Not sure about Hahndorf either, I think they may have played a couple of friendly games and been on the end of a couple of big defeats in 2011. I’d say Uni, Lion and Comets will be in charge of Div 2.

I heard Hahndorf have lost a few players for this season too?PIGGY wrote:Not sure about Hahndorf either, I think they may have played a couple of friendly games and been on the end of a couple of big defeats in 2011.

February,and making predictions ? bit of a premature pre-ediction.
Re: Saturday Div 2 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
not if they advice is true, having 8 first team players from Div 1 leave the club would have a negative impact on any clubs chances. regardless of the time of year.

I think that Uni and Vipers coming down will be hard to beat. Plus USC and Hahndorf are strong sides. Add MA Hawks and Comets to the mix.
Comets are my favourites, some big pick ups and have being going under the radar.

Re: Saturday Div 2 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
I'm just saying it's bound to be one of the Greek teams this year surely haha....hawks, vipers, comets, titans (if they play as good as they talk). Can't see hahndorf being to much trouble like in recent years, USC lion should be Interesting as well as adelaide uni! So looking forward to a relatively close season!!!

Red Blue Eagles 3-1 win
Apparently neither game taken too seriously with lots of experimenting. Very strong first team, depends if they can keep everyone fit for the year or not.
Re: Saturday Div 2 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
with sanger player/coach, USC will do very well and should be promoted at seasons end
look forward to playing against the BIG SANGER next year (hopefully) and sharing many drinks after the game
