17's Title

Post by Nova »

Bit quiet here considering it's the last game, looks like a 2 horse race with either Adelaide City or Campbelltown!
Any thoughts?
I think City have it in a close one!

:D Nova..now which CITY are you talking about I wonder? Both teams have difficult games away. South Adelaide pitch in poor condition which will make it difficult to play pretty football on...probably a game of 2 halves if windy! Campbelltown should win their game. I'm tipping City too!!! (CCSC that is !) Been very little in it this year between top 5 teams.

Have to agree with you sc1.
Up until 4 weeks ago, any of the top 7 teams could have taken out the title.
Apart from the bottom 3 teams the rest of the u17 teams have been very even.
Adelaide City should comfortably beat South Adelaide 5-0. As for our team, what ever the result, we are very pleased with the season and the progress we have made. Win or lose, we have had a successful year.
I still rate your team the toughest opponent we have played this year and looking back over the season, wining at the paddocks 1-0 on a Friday night, the most memorable game for me (my opinion).
Good luck for all teams this sunday.

Adel City to tie 1-1 with Souths
Campbelltown to beat Strikers 1-0

CCSC to take the 17's title.

the boys deserve it, its been a good year and this will be a good way for the club to cap it.

 Ha ha, I guess it's a safe bet then hey sc1!
Whatever the outcome every team should be proud as it's been a very tight season and the quality of soccer has been quite good IMO regardless of what some knockers have been saying
Agree with you Vale, the game at the Paddocks was a ripper and these 2 sides match up pretty well! Definantly thought Para would be right up there challenging to the end, but I suppose anything can happen in a season and with boys getting injured and moving up and down to 19's you can never bank on anything!
Good luck to all teams and enjoy the last game :D

Campbelltown have been the best side of the top 3 I've seen this year, unfortunately "their" title will rest on the quality of side South Adelaide put on the park Sunday against Adelaide City

Vagrant are you suggesting that for some reason South Adelaide will field a weakend team , they are 4th bottom anyway so why would AC not beat them. Sounds like you are preparing an excuse in advance ....

I don't think South Adelaide will resort to any under handed tactics.

Should be no excuses for any of the teams. This years comp has been one of the best i've seen a credit to all players, coaches and most officials. Some teams have been lucky with results and some unlucky but good to see title come down to the wire with two hard games to decide.Goodluck to both city teams.[/img]

two quality sides, both worthy of taking the title, but I think CCSC will take it. Panthers will want to beat City from the cup final, and destroy their chances of taking the double.

No, Povman, not at all. Look at Souths results throught the year and you will see they are very up and down.

Don't need to make excuses, I'm not involved with either club, just an observation. Now we know that Souths put a strong team out, and Cambelltown won the league.

In another topic I suggested that Campbelltown were the most consistant from what I have seen. Frankly it is good to see the title settled on the last day!!

Just because we play for city doesn't mean we are all rich bastards who drink red wine.
