Fan confronts David Beckham

Post by TOPGUNJIMMYAUFC »

The Football Association has formally complained to FIFA after an angry England fan barged his way into the Three Lions' dressing room and confronted David Beckham in Cape Town.

Algeria keeps limp England in check
Fan invades England shed
Questions over Rooney fitness

England was booed off following its 0-0 draw with Algeria at the Green Point Stadium that leaves its World Cup hopes hanging by a thread.

And one supporter was so angry he took direct action and evaded security to remonstrate with the former skipper, who has been a constant presence since England's arrival in South Africa.

The incident further sours a disappointing match for England, following Wayne Rooney's outburst at fans after they booed the team from the field.
The England striker trudged off following an ineffective performance before turning and saying to the ITV cameras:

"It's nice to see your own fans booing you."NOT!

The result means England needs to beat Slovenia in its final match to ensure it qualifies for the second round.

More details to follow as details of the breach emerge.

40.000 england fans make the trip to watch overated and overpaid twats play like that. no wonder they got booed off the pitch. and when shrek gets his head out of his arse and starts showing a bit of passion. then maybe the fans will do the same.

Rooney not showing any passion? joking, right?
The point is MG, that Rooney has no right to even question his own supporters who have taken the time, the effort, and spent their hard earnt dollars to be in South Africa to watch their side put up embarassing and insipid performances like that. They have every right to be livid and Rooney has every right to keep his big mouth shut. If you have nothing nice to say to your supporters to keep them interested, then say nothing at all as far as im concerned under the current circumstances. If he wants to open his mouth, let him pay the expenses of all the travelling English fans, then he can say what he wants but until then, hed be better advised to keep his gob closed as i see it

While I agree with your quote (whole heartedly), that wasn't the point that MG was saying and I agree with him too - saying has no passion or plays that way is ridiculous.

Be interesting if you ranked the sides on the gross club wages of the squads I bet England would at number one. They are overpaid and under performing, sadly they may be the best England has to offer. The "Golden Generation" ........................I am not too sure.

i understand what you guys are saying but having a go at your fans and trying to defend your teammates to them isnt what i would call passion. Wayne Rooney is one English player i have plenty of time for and i love his work ethic and his passion for the game, however, even he should not escape the wrath of the millions who support his team 8)

So England need to win their last group game to advance! Wow, whats the big deal. They win the next game, and they are assured of advancing , without relying on anyone else. In 1982, Italy just scraped in to the next phase and ended up winning .
A week is a long time in football. Things change. England are still my faves to win the Cup.

Exactly! Stitch Junior showed more passion playing for Blackfriars this morning when they got thrashed 4-0 by PAC - even though the little chit was half asleep and not even trying.

Rooney was terrible and his body language was poor.

Mind you he wasn't on his own, only Ashley Cole was worth his place.

they are definatly lacking passion

rooney has been embarrassing

fans are not stupid, they know when you havent left everything out on the park, not showing respect to the country they play for, Algeria had these qualities

im hoping for an Algeria draw so England & Slovenia go through

The point is MG, that Rooney has no right to even question his own supporters who have taken the time, the effort, and spent their hard earnt dollars to be in South Africa to watch their side put up embarassing and insipid performances like that. nah thats a joke col why would you want to play for a country that boo's you they have no passion because there own supporters treat them like crap thats why they would rather play for their respective clubs. did the greece supporters boo them after the south korea game ? did we boo australia after the germany game ? i dont think so. but any way back to the topic why would the fan confront beckham what does he have to do with the way the team is playing ???????

Listen one and only, they deserve all the "boos" they get mate and if you can sit there and defend those pathetic players, then you sadly not know too much about the game. Greece arent expected to do well unlike England and Greece have only played in 2 World Cups, a HUGE difference to England. Australia the same as Greece and at least both of those countries showed some heart in their 2nd games, what has England showed??? Dont try and defend the undefendable, i know your half English but not even you can defend that crap mate

You are right Colossus, you cannot defend the inept performances in the World Cup so far. They are some of the highest paid players on the planet and showed little passion, poor skills and zero tactical awareness.

Sadly the roots of the problem go beyond the England side and are deeply embedded in the structural and development issues facing English football. England is behind many nations on technical and tactical development and other than win at home 1966 has failed consistently at all levels of international football. They need to stand back and take stock of where they really are, rather than 6m pounds on foreign coaches why not invest in youth by appointing an overseas technical coach to oversee the revolution of English football from grass root/juniors up.

im not defending them COLOSSUS im just saying i wouldnt want to play for a team that boo'd me and maybe they should be more loyal to their players like the other nations are because in all fairness they are still in with a really good chance to qualify regardless of how they are playing

P.S who are you to say i know nothing about the game any way lol
