2 wins, 6 points and we reach the next round and have a chance of topping the group (Australia wins both games and Ghana & Germany draw).

Now we still have a chance of qualifying if we draw with Ghana and beat Serbia and Ghana beat Germany. Previously if we drew with Ghana we were stuffed.

Previously we could beat both Ghana and Serbia and still not qualify - that was a very high probability of happening because if Germany beat Serbia they had qualified with 6 points and would finish top - even if Ghana beat them in the last game (and ended up with 6 points).

Now our World Cup destiny is completely in our hands. Two wins and we are certain of qualifying.

This is the crux of it - you can't rely on other teams to hand you results to get through. I can't see us winning both games, but its better to know what we have to do rather than sit and hope for results elsewhere.
