Jabulani is Ruining my World Cup

Post by pino »

Is it just me or is it getting so frustrating watching the worlds best players constantly over or under hit passes and crosses and put shots into the stands from the edge of the 18 yard box?

This ball was supposed to help goal scoring, but instead has hindered just about every team who can not use this ball with any proficiency.

The Germans seemed to have no problems.

That's right 51% of the German team trained with it for 6 months before the world cup. Cheats!!

I am very surprised that this forum is not lit up like a Christmas Tree with the revelation that the Krauts had access to the Adidas ball FOUR MONTHS before the World Cup finals.

This is an absolute disgrace and FIFA should IMMEDIATELY expel the Germans from the finals and change the ball to one agreed between the teams - if they can't agree on a ball for the tournament FIFA should make the decision and no adidas balls should ever be considered for selection again.

It's funny really how things go. My wife and I were watching the game between Australia & Germany and halfway through the first half she turned to me and said, "Was the ball only be given to the teams when they arrived in South Africa, or did some countries get access to it before the finals? It looks to me as if the Germans have had access to it far longer than anyone else because they seem to control it better and all their shots are on target."

I said, " Don't be daft. FIFA would never allow it, it would go against their 'Fair Play' ethos."

After hearing that they had access for four months before anyone else and adidas gave it to them, I apologised to the missus.

The older I get the better I was.

The Germans should be given a fair trial then shot or sent to a concentration camp somewhere very cold.

agreed, it's an enormous balls up
the boffins got carried away with making the ball as light and retarded as the possibly could, forgetting that someone had to play football with it

Dont blame inept shooting on the ball, did anyone see Maicon score for Brazil last night??? And dont tell me the ball was heading for the grandstand before it decided to curl into the back of the net

You guys are full of complaints, its Round 1 for fuck sake

That being the case...how can so many crosses be over hit and run out of play??

I watch how many games of football each week...English Premier League, Serie A, Primera, A League and even the local leagues. Yet I haven't seen so many over hit crosses as I have in the last 5 days. Have all of these players become so inept at crossing that they shouldn't be professionals anymore??
If that isn't the case what appears to be the common factor in all of this poor play...oh yeah Jabulani.

Yeah, they did. All of the relevant FAs can only blame themselves for signing long-term ball sponsorship deals that would cover the six month period before the world cup.

And blame FIFA for the rampant commercialism. Or just end themselves. Either way.

I'd love FIFA to show some balls and at least use the ball from the last tournament.

chit ball is chit

it looks like women's football (no disrespect to women) the way some of the best players in the world are judging the flight/bounce of the ball.

Sure, a good tradie never blames his tools, but if he used to use his hammer to hammer things, but now instead of hammering things, it's sanding things, WHAT IS A TRADIE TO DO!?!
