I guess that's a possibility of happening, but then again so is Australia topping the group.

I think they will be right in it against Ghana, of course they could still lose against them but I would bet a draw or win in that match. As for the other two games, they are certainly underdogs, but not without hope of landing a result - more likely against Serbia than Germany.

Bottom line is, it's no shame to finish last in that group. But losing all three and not scoring a goal would be a tad embarrassing - I don't think it will happen though.

that said they could knock in 5 against us

Since the game that "Aus only just managed to get a win vs the oceania winner" was a friendly - and you seem to think friendlies matter so much - then we must be better than Ghana because we beat them 1-0 in a friendly two years ago with practically our b-team and Essien played in that match for Ghana.

As for Ghana being the best African team at the World Cup, make sense of this: Algeria are considered the worst African team at the WC, yet they topped their qualifying group ahead of Egypt, who won the African Cup. So by your logic, Algeria should be the best, not Ghana.

Ghana are not the best, nor the worst, African team at the WC. They are a reasonably strong side, but a side that Aus have every chance of beating if they play well.

I think Germany will top the group, Australia and Serbia to fight it out for 2nd

Serbia looked terrible from the highlights

Given that Australia are playing Germany first up, and not expected to get a point. This could leave us in a sticky situation.
Serbia plays Ghana. And with everybody saying it could be the Ghana game is where the Aussies will get their points...Straight away we are chasing the top two, given that Serbia may notch the max points against Ghana..
Ideally, a draw in the Serb v Ghana game would leave us in the best possible position to see us through to the next stage IMO.

I think it comes down to the fact that with Guus in charge you had the feeling that we had a chance against anyone..

I'm so far from having that feeling with Pim in charge.

can't understand how ghana are underated. they are a great team playing on their continent. serbia won't get through.
