u17A - Adel City vs Western Strikers - thoughts??

Post by anfieldboy »

I know it is only early in the week but let's hear it....what do we all think the result will be. Match of the round in my opinion, will await the result with much anticipation.

My prediction...3-3 anyone?? :D :D

Only time will tell I guess but this will have the biggest impact on the final standings at end of season assuming Campbelltown make light work out of their encounter with Cumberland although...who's counting their chickens before they've hatched hey??!!! :D

Best of luck to both teams!

 Adelaide City should win. Strikers need to join an orchestra where they can all blow their trumpets freely.

Out come will depend on how many players AC bring down for this game.
Will not be surprised if AC bench consists of approx 6-8 players.
When City played Metro a few weeks ago you would think there was an exhibition match at half time with all the City bench kicking the ball around.
Strkers team was promoted from from U15b to U17a and has proven itself to be worthy for the chance of top spot.

My prediction (if Adelaide City plays U17A team that was chosen at trials)

Strikers 2 - Adelaide City 1

I'm apart of the Adelaide City under 17's squad, we have 18 players who were in our team from the start of the season. We have 9 players who are eligible to play for the under 16's or lower. I dont see a problem.

As long as all the players playing are under 17 years of age there is no problem.

I am not implying that anything other than that would happen just making a point.

Strikerzebra, I did not say that your team plays over-aged players, I have never seen a junior team with a squad of 18.
U17 play 11 on the field and 3 subs on the bench =14. So your telling me that 4 players miss out every week.
How do these players feel ?
How do their (fee paying parents feel)?
Were these players aware 18 players were being chosen for U17s team at trials?
Are you saying that your team has never droped down an eligable U19 player at all this year ?
Soccer community is very small and most players know who their opponents are.
May be you are one of these players Strikerzebra???

Quick question,
How come Adelaide City didn`t put in an U/16 team this year ?
You seem to know everything within your club.
Curious about the reply. : ( not your personal thoughts ) !

We started off with about 16 players, during the year one player came from America and joined our team and that makes 17, about half way during the season a player from Cambeltown got kicked out and he used to play at city rejoined the team.

I think at this moment we have 17 players, yes they were aware at the start of the season and we never have 15 fit players so we usually only have about 4 on the bench. With a bigger bench it pushes players to train harder to get there spot in the team I believe thats a good thing and it gives the coach choice if someone is underperforming or not putting in the effort.

The only time we have dropped under 19's is when we had injured players or people sick and we did not have enough players so they came down to fill in, we have never brang players down due to a big game we are not like that.

strikerzebra...I like the way you answer the questions on this site. You can tell which ones are full of it and which ones are not. Well done. I've coached against your team this year too and am impressed by the way your boys perform on the park....we have had SOME success against you though!! Good luck for the remainder of the season.
