Re: The Golden Ball
he'll have to score 6 goals in the first half an hour, because that's all I see him lastingThe Kop wrote:RVP.
Re: The Golden Ball
true. but on the positive he takes penalties for the NT yeh.
im on the the RVP-Holland double for the novelty factor --231/1
If Italy had a world class striker this WC whoever that was would be worth some coin just for going up against the Kiwis. Theres a hattrick waiting to be bagged. Thats half way to golden boot.

Re: The Golden Ball
Torres, if he plays. Xavi of course will put everything on a plate for him, but he'll get the accolade.

And that's if Xavi plays (probably will, they do have what? 20 days still?).Litmanen wrote:Torres, if he plays. Xavi of course will put everything on a plate for him, but he'll get the accolade.
Thinking about it, I might put money on both the RVP/Netherlands and Torres/Spain like The Kop said.

It's funny, they're both Glass cannons.
Speaking of which, you could add Robben to that too.

Re: The Golden Ball
Some of you guys are geting the Golden Ball confused with the Golden Shoe.
C. Ronaldo for the Golden Shoe. He is in form, no injury clouds and he takes all the free-kicks and penalties.

Re: The Golden Ball
Will Portugal get out of their group though? (Brazil,Nth Korea,Ivory Coast)....You would think Brazil should make it out then for me its a coin flip between the Portugal and Cote D'Drogba.
And even if they get out of the group, 2nd place in Group G would with 99% certainty meet Spain.
CR would be good for 3-4 goals in the groups but he would need Portugal to make at least the QFs id say.

Re: The Golden Ball
I can see CR getting 5-6 goals from the group stages alone. CR is like the big man upfront in AFL, the Portuguese players always want to give him the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if Portugal finish top of their group. They have a strong squad. The Kop wrote:Will Portugal get out of their group though? If he plays as selfishly as he does at Madrid, if he's not in top form in every game, Portugal are going to flop.El Capitano wrote:I can see CR getting 5-6 goals from the group stages alone. Not surprised, given what I've heard about the quality of physios at English clubs... :?Litmanen wrote:It's funny, they're both Glass cannons.

Re: The Golden Ball
Portugal are the biggest bunch of chokers...
If you look at the teams that Ronaldo has around him, he's always had guys that do the hard work for him.
I think like Messi, and Drogba, you'd find that he does better for his club team than his country.
I guess we'll wait and see, I hope Ivory Coast make it ahead of them.
