so far this round (that i know of)
Campbelltown 3 def Adel City 1

great game, good skills shown by both sides but also lots of lapses. Seems city may be suffering a bit of a hangover from Cup win last weekend and Campbelltown with the weeks rest somehow seemed a little weary at times.

Campbelltown keeper saved their backsides late in the game with some fantastic saves under pressure so too did their whole defensive line, particularly their No.2 and No.3. Campbelltown did show their calmness under pressure though with the third goal late in the game after City had pulled one back courtesy of a penalty after rallying hard from 2-0 down.

City may have had a lot of the ball, but Campbelltown did enough to hold their own.

Refereeing left a lot to be desired, some poor decisions and some sloppy discipline being handed out - although comments from the "win at all costs" parents may have swayed some of his thinking.

All in all an enjoyable game of soccer in fine conditions made a great start to a Sunday and the win by Campbelltown has now set up perfectly the final battle to take the league title which will now go right down to the wire!

Striker Zebra, that is the rule old school style. Think you will find it matters not how the ball gets to the player, if they are in an offside position when it is struck in their direction then they is offside.

Cumberland 2
Comets 2

Comets conceeded a soft penalty in the second half and had two goals that had crossed the line and one even hit the side netting disallowed as the ref and the cumberland linesman were in poor positions to see the goal. Boys played well and havent lost now in 4 outings.
