Sat Div 3 - Thoughts, predictions etc

Post by Chelsea4thewin »

There are a few other threads floating around so will create one for this league

teams:

Monarchs
Flinders Uni
Hahndorf
McLaren Dist
Mt Barker
Adel Uni (2)
Adel Pumas
Murray Bridge
ACU Falcons
USC Lions

For a team that is in the Adelaide Metropoliton area like my team (puma's) looks like we will discover what it is like to live in the country with a road trip every second week, not really what i had in mind lol

Not sure about a lot of the teams but Murray Bridge and ACU are pretty good sides so i expect them both to be near the top half of the table

Yep, I second that.

We've picked up a few but lost a few players as well. Mid-table is an appropriate goal I think for both our teams with the A's challenging for promotion if we can keep our squad consistent.

USC Lion came over after being relegated from Sunday Division 1. The SAASL should have put them into Sat Div 4 but we've been over this already.

If history is anything to go by, Murray Bridge will struggle to be around the top half of the table.. especially putting a competetive side together away every second week.
USC Lion should run away with it and the rest of the league be fairly competetive is my guess.. should be an interesting division this year.

good to see usc lions knocking a cricket score against pumas in a 3-3 draw, would say both teams were unlucky not too score goals, for people who witnessed the game can honestly say the score line could of been possible 10-5 if pumas didnt hit the post 7 times and usc lions missing a couple 1 v 1's

You forget to mention the header from Sanger that was about a metre over the goal line, so far over it nearly hit the net but was waved play on  :o

any other scores.?
mount barker bet Murray Bridge 2-1 and I don't believe either two teams are very strong this year.
hahndorf bet ACU Falcons 4-2

I don't think pumas and lions will run away with it. Maybe lions but if they drew 3-3 with pumas then might not be so easy. where did pumas finish last year?

haha no just a spectator, but I still found it amusing. You guys will do well this year, we expected a tough game and certainly got it. What suprised me a little was we seemed to have more control 2nd half, I expected our older lads to run out of legs.

ACU Falcons 2 - 2 Mt Barker (Reserves 0-5)

Shocking day for both teams as multiple injuries/absentees in both squads lead to the ressies fielding a team with 3 of the original starting 11 that beat the MA Hawks in preseason....we'll need our A game next week to avoid embarassment against USC Lion.

Makes them around 3 for 20 after 3 overs!!!! with a run rate of about 6.66 per over!!

Correct, given there are 5 teams on 4 points and another 2 on 3 and our guys were undermanned for the first 2 weeks I reckon it'll be close but still reckon Hahndorf, Lion and probably Monarchs will challenge for the A's title.

If only I could say what I wanted to say on a public forum my friend.

But let me ask you this, how would your team go losing 4 first team players and 3 reserves (inc myself to an ankle sprain) to various reasons for a week.

Thats a dead loss of 7 reserves players given 4 would get promoted to seniors.

Our backups have NEVER played club before and some never played soccer before, we are a community team and the community where the bulk of our squad is formed from.

You saw our presason form was with everyone fit and avaliable.

Unfortunately politics and certain selfish individuals are killing us atm!!!

your clubs having to play it's reserves in the A's is a huge deal. Reasonable A's, rubbish B's.

i am more going on about his excuses on the forum last season

everytime the first team lost there was an excuse, i think when we beat them 4-1 was the only time he accepted the better team on the day won

I think that was after having pointed out how much he blamed the referees.

i thought last season was the end of hearing it but issues with other teams meant your team got promoted (without earning the right)
