Chelsea V Inter
Inter going into this 2 - 1. I assume Inter will try and get an early goal and sit back. Ancelotti will be using Ross Turnbull in goals due to injuries.
Personally i'd liek to see Belletti play CDM instead of Mikel, or anyone for that matter, I think Mikel will once again prove to be too slow with his passing, and movement. As always i hope he proves me wrong. I also think he should have played the Diamond in Italy, with Deco at the top, Malouda and Lamps at the sides, and Ballack or Belletti at the base ( belleti at the base would mean ballack on the right and Lamps on the left).
Apparently this is what it looks like he'll be playing.
-------------Turnbull---------------
Ivanovic---Carvalho---Terry-----Zhirkov
--------------Mikel---------------
----Ballack--Lampard---Malouda
--------Drogba--Anelka---------
I'd like to see Alex have a run considering we need goals, and he has a knack of scoring them when we need them.
I think it's gonna be a tough one, i think Chelsea will have to score 2 to have any chance of even getting to extra time, hopefully there's a bit of luck on our side, but i still think Inter with Mourinho at the helm are in the box seat.
I'm guessing Inter will line up something like this.
Cesar
Maicon Lucio Samuel Zanetti
Stankovic Cambiasso muntari
Sneijder
Eto Milito
Predictions? Thoughts?

nah surely someone will score?
If Chelsea score early then we might see a stalemate. Otherwise Chelsea will chase the game and may even conceed.
At least 1 goal will be scored i reckon, can't keep Drogba out again surely?

Re: Chelsea V Inter
Turnball
Ivanovic Terry Carvalho Zhirkov
Mikel
Ballack Lampard
Anelka Malouda
Drogba
I am predicting Chelsea 3-1
the key man for Chelsea is Malouda IMO, his game on the weekend was one of the best i have ever seen of him, showing a lot of confidence and getting dangerous crosses in, someone inter will have to try and stop
I dont think Drogba will have much of an impact with Lucio matching up perfect against him
we better play from the whistle, cant afford an Inter early goal or they will shut down and play the football Italy is best for "SEND THEM BACK"

Re: Chelsea V Inter
I think they were actually double-teaming drogba last match. This is again why the diamond is perfect. it allows the top of the diamond player to push even higher into the space Drogba is pulling the CB's away from. Joe Cole used to do this so well before his injury.
You're right though. The left wing is crucial ( in either system).
Zhirkov and Malouda are very good on the attack, i wouldn't be surprised if either of them setup another goal.
Expect alot of free kicks i reckon too.

It's on SBS at 6:30 i believe.
I'm worried about it too, we got a dud draw this time, esp with teams like Stuttgart, Lyon ( or should i say Madrid ;P) and Olympiacos around the place.
Barca will be thanking there lucky stars they got a weak team with the injuries they've had.

yeh mate thats the 1st legChelsea4thewin wrote:guessing u didnt watch the first legMUFCBOY wrote:i cnt see chelsea containing inter, but i rkn it will be tight

afta the 1st leg u sorta know where u stand and what u gotta do, inter will keep it tight, but if chelsea pinch a goal then its all out attack for inter
all they gotta do is get a draw
Re: Chelsea V Inter
Terry in the midst of a personal crisis, our keeper and backup LB getting injured during the game. This means we didn't use two subs to attack, but to defend, in a game we eventually had to chase.
I'd say they that was the bad luck Chelsea4thewin was talking about.

Re: Chelsea V Inter
there was also the blatant Kalou penalty. After last years bullshit against Barcelona i've just accepted that the refs hate us in Europe....

Lopperman, until you tell me who you support, your comments are worthless.
To the others:
Again we haven't ever had the luck to win the CL, every team needs that bit of luck, and Man U and Barca have had it against us and gone onto win.
Man U = John Terry slip
Barca = 4 penalty appeals turned down (The Pique one was a clear pen, the others not so much).

John Terry falling over is not bad luck, it's bad balance
completely his fault and you deserved the loss

Re: Chelsea V Inter
i dont think any team in the world deserves to lose on penalties, its just the only way to find a winner in some circumstances
i wont go on about the Pique handball, but how the ref missed it is beyond me, the chelsea and Barca players pretty much stopped because they knew it was a penalty, the ref was the only one that missed it, i still am convinced he was under instructions not to give us anything
loppermann you just like to push peoples buttons with what you say and get a reaction, i dont really care what your opinion is on any matter, u seem like an immature child looking for attention, pathetic really

John Terry slip???
Ok he slipped big deal, but why no mention drogbas slap on Vidic??? which cost you blokes a genuine penalty taker!!!
I dont see that being bad luck, more stupidity, and if drogba didnt do it and was still on the pitch, then terry wouldnt have taken the penalty
Also didnt you get luck in the Semi with the Riise own goal ;)
2008 was our yr anyways, we were destined to win it 50 yrs on from Munich anyways
coulda won the cup.... but he fkd it up.... viva john terry!!

Nah he's just a shit ref, he did it again against Fiorentina the other week.
He's the lopperman of the refereeing world.
Again a bit of luck here and there is all it takes MUFCBOY, you guys just got it in the final ( much like when Porto beat you due to Tim Howards slip in the CL).
