downs seven a side comp

Post by marooned »

The Downs will again be hosting our annual seven a side comp run on wednesday nights from October 18 to December 20 including a knock out cup comp in the last two nights.

We will be having a men and womens comp same as last year.
Entry is 20 dollars per team per game except cup games.

This is a much sought after comp and teams will be limited so get you squads organised quickly. First in best dressed as they say.

To enter your team fax a letter to 8284 1415 with your team details and contact nos or by email to billyduncan@optusnet.com.au

Few of the lads of got together and put together a pretty good side - Daniel Godley, Lee Robertson, Michael Brooks, Neil Childs, Saggs Brothers Jonesy Mick Krollig and Wado from PHE and Jonathon Negus. How many teams usually in these comps?

I think they'll have to put a limit on how many super league players can play/team...or that each must consume 6 of coopers finest before play!!

There's only really three super league players there as Godders is playing on the field - and he'll hardly be super league level on the field!!

he is a delight to watch on-field big godders.
directs traffic, is the on field general.
from personal experience, he has really opened my eyes to onfield magic, and he gives u a sense of nothing is impossible.

When I was getting a squad together I approached the Big Man asked hm to go in goals - and he believes that this Saturdsay will be his last game in goals.
He sees himself purely as a striker these days.
But in reality if he doenst go in goals - he will be on the bench.,

godders would simply be able to throw a goal in if he was in goal, so i reckon he is best suited to the GK position.
also the seagulls came to the fifa night and shat all over the rest. keep practicin boys!!
When seagulls follow a trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.

theres no need for lobster boy in goals. the team has purchased a 6'4 goalkeeper. the opposition stands little - no chance

i have 9 teams registered at the moment and 1 will let me know next week if they will put a team in. The Vale are most welcome to enter a team on standby if you like pc .

And yes it hasnt been the same since the Vale left. An abundance of pies after the games seems to be the biggest problem.

As long as your lot are happy with second no worries

PS if we do field a side it maybe wise to get the facts about the vale boys in this comp

thanks thierry its good to have a good influence on quality youngsters, and as I say, you have to leave defenders guessing and how can they predict what Im going to do when I dont even know what im doing let alone just done :D
Im in good form and fitness and ready to walk away with the golden boot.
Does any one know if Nego wants the lobster suit??

After his hat trick in the cup final and great season....unfortunately Nego still cant break into the side. But will be a good impact player off the bench tho.
