Are you talking about for a particular division or our own club?

If you refer to the club, then at Ingle Farm I would say

Coach: Paul Simpson. He has been there 7 years and won a few trophies so easy one.
Player: I think it would be a tie between Chris Ennis and Anthony Staltari. Both have won a lot of awards from coaches, supporter and players so both stand out to me.

To break it down further

Team Man of the decade: Anthony Staltari with Brendan Altus not far behind.
Forward: Torsten Rutter just in front of Paul Jones.
Midfielder: Very hard to pick. We have had quite a number of good midfielders but they haven't been at the club for a longer period of time.
Defender: Chris Ennis
Goal Keeper: Rob Greenwood

Salisbury Inter won Div 1 twice, cup twice and 5 consecutive chicken cup appearances.
Then in 2nd half of decade got relegated twice and won div 2. How things change.

You'd have to put Alan Mottram (coach) and Bert Fuda (player) and with a hint of bias the Downs (Team) and (Club)..
The next decade will belong to Southern Knights :D

I was only referring to my club.

As for the Divison as a whole, probably hard to go past Inter, again.

Dunno, Id say Downs or Vale, not Inter, Inter won 2 leagues, so did Sowns but Downs didnt get relegated at all,

Vale won league and cups,

Inter won 2 cups and 2 league titles though. Plus they won a Divison 2 title.

Going by the 4 clubs already mentioned (Vale, Downs, Inter & Adelaide Villa) it has probably been the only decade where one club hasn't dominated.

Previously there was the Vale of the 90's and Inter in the 80's.

Looking at that Swanny, I think Comets have more over Adelaide Villa. I'm going to change my vote to Elizabeth Vale, 2 titles and 3 Cups. Downs and 2 titles and 1 cup, Villa have 2 titles, Inter have 2 titles and 2 cups. Therefore the winner in Vale.

Didn't realise until I looked back how Salisbury Inter were still in the mix....
2 x Sunday Division 1 Champions (+ 2 x Runners-Up)
Sunday Division 2 Champions
2 x Challenge Cup Winners
3 x Cichanowski Shields ( + Runners-Up )

I guess you need to give more weight to League Championships (18 games) and Challenge Cup (~5 games) as opposed to Cichanowski Shield and Champion of Champions which rely on 1 game.

With no disrespect to Uncle Alby Soang who played for MU Findon in the 70's, I'd think that Gardens probably were the most successful club even doing the double double (A's & B's League & Cup) in 1975.

With 3 stand alone Division 1 Championships and a Runners-Up, I would lean more toward M.U.Findon as Team of The Decade 1970-1979....also took out Division 1 B&F 4 times and 2 Templin Cups.
*M.U.Findon also won a Division 3 title in 1973 and also won Division 1 again in 1980.

Not entirely true, Parafield finished bottom of Division 1 in 1969. They had been in Division 1 since their inception as there was only one division back then.
