victorian amatuer clubs

Post by Tony Adams »

i recently found out my partner will most likely be transferred to victoria as part of a much deserved promotion,

i have been trying to look for some clubs over there but im struggling to grasp the set up as it seems as though tge amatuer scene isnt as large there (this may be very incorrect however).

does anyone know of decent clubs over there, we will be located in the western suburbs (my partners workplace being in derrumut (*spelling :? ). i am 23 have played for inter for 5 years mostly reserves (unfortunatly a few untimely, serious injuries have kept me from making a push for first team, and seen me feature in the c's).

i am looking to just play socially and im not 2 fussed with the standard. please help all ideas would b greatly appreciated

I moved across at the beginning of the year and I too wasn't sure how the set up was over here in melb. The list above is more of a social kick around league, where everyone sort of just rocks up on a sunday and plays. If you want somewhere to train a couple of nights a week and play, try the provisional leagues. In your case, provisional league 3 North/West would be your best bet. The standard is probably on par with sunday div 2 amateurs but you play on saturdays.

www.soccer-forum.net has all the leagues and their info.

Hope that helps

Its all 1 structure over there, there are chit loads of clubs.
Lower levels divided by locality, North-West areas are togehter and South-East.

Mens State (equiv of FFSA here) has 4 divs and split by locality.
Mens Provy (roughly equiv of SAASL) has has around 4 too and split by locality
Mens Metro/Masters (equiv of Cs/Over 35s) has around 5 divs.

try this link for a list of clubs:

Are you kidding? i'd love to play with an old mate, so i've organised an indoor team with him

anyway, at my clubs B&F awards this year, i scored an impressive 1 whole point! ..... I don't think i have a choice, they're gonna FORCE me to play with them next year!
