I happened to be at the semi finals of the cup and noticed that the celtic boys were pretty much the same as the last time I saw them, cant comment on westies as I never really paid that close attention. As long as they are registered, over 35's players, does it matter? :?

There were about 7 ring ins for the Celtic Boys. Two of them were about 20 years old. Couldn't be helped as a lot of their players were off in QLD for the Semi Final. If we had taken 6-7 of the chances in the first half like we should of, then it wouldn't of mattered.

Yeah, hit the post 4 times from what I saw. Well done to Brahma for taking their chances and good luck to them in the final! We only have ourselves to blame for losing that game and well done to Brahma for getting a team together so the game could go ahead.

For your info Poker Face we did not have any ring ins as you Quoted, However we had alot of players with injuries this season including myself with 10 wks out with ankle ligament damage, unfortunatley for the Jets old boys we are all fit know with the exception of three and hopefully they will be ready to go by Sunday wk. The best team won on the day.
One more to go fellas lets fire up for the Final :)

There is no rule as it stands this season.

What we are pushing for next season is to have it that all players must be Over 35 on the team sheet with 3 players aged between 30-34 who can also be included in the side. To identify Over 35's players, their players card will be a different colour.

The cup will work the same in that if you are not cup tied to the B's or A's and are over 35, then you are eligible.

Makes sense. Do you think if we had an Over 35s team on a Saturday playing in the C divisions the SAASL will allow that team to participate in the o35s Cup (fulfilling that criteria of course)?

Cant see why not. The problem is many of the o35's wouldn't be able to play on Saturday mornings due to their own kids football. Definately worth exploring and it would be good to have the Saturday boys involved in the cup.

Yes. The majority of the starting lineup in our D Grade side this year that won their title was 30+, and I can count 7 that were definitely 35+. Bacon, you're over 30?

Thanks Poker Face Hopefully the officials won't affect the game this time around
As for my injury you a right is does take a long time to recover when your over 40, I actually hung the boots up and called it a day until I went down and watched the boys play and got the hunger back once again :D
