[EPL] Finally the real stuff is back
The offseason has to be one of the worst times of the year.
Predictions?
1. Chelsea
2. Liverpool
3. Man U
4. Arsenal/City
18. Hull
19. Burnley
20. Stoke
Think the depth of Chelsea will get them up this season, don't think any other team has close to the depth they have. Don't know that Liverpool have what it takes to shake the monkey of it's back and win the league.
Who knows whether City can get it together, but if they can, will definitely be a force.
2nd year blues for Hull and Stoke, would like to see Burnley stay up though.
Round 1
Chelsea v Hull City 12:45 Stamford Bridge
Aston Villa v Wigan Athletic 15:00 Villa Park
Blackburn Rovers v Manchester City 15:00 Ewood Park
Bolton Wanderers v Sunderland 15:00 Reebok Stadium
Portsmouth v Fulham 15:00 Fratton Park
Stoke City v Burnley 15:00 Britannia Stadium
Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United 15:00 Molineux
Everton v Arsenal 17:30 Goodison Park
Manchester United v Birmingham City 13:30 Old Trafford
Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool 16:00 White Hart Lane
Chelsea to thump Hull
Villa to get up
Santa to come early for City against his former club
Draw @ Reebok
Fulham to sneak a win
Stoke to continue their good run at home
Wolves fired up vs the Hammers, only to lose by a goal
Draw at Goodison
Man U to annihilate Birmingham
Draw at the Lane
The wait is nearly over!!

Re: [EPL] Finally the real stuff is back
I'm still not sure about this diamond formation business with Chelsea.
If Joe Cole comes back early enough to lead the attacking part of the diamond then i reckon they'll do well. While they have Malouda in there... im not so sure.
I still think Chelsea have the best chance to win it this year though.

Re: [EPL] Finally the real stuff is back
theres talk of pompey going into adminstration in the next 48 hrs. could be a long year for their fans if true. they can have benjani back for nought.

apart from his debut at the swamp, no. frustrating player to watch but dont think he'll get much game time anyway.OldRedback wrote:Not impressed with the impact he made (or did not make) at Middlle Eastlands then blue moon?blue moon wrote:theres talk of pompey going into adminstration in the next 48 hrs. could be a long year for their fans if true. they can have benjani back for nought.

Re: [EPL] Finally the real stuff is back
Are City going with the old fashioned 2 - 3 - 5 formation this year - it looks like that will be the way they get all their signing to play (and keep them happy?)
Re: [EPL] Finally the real stuff is back
santa and bellemy are always injured so that two taken care of. cant afford two at the back with our defensive record but hopefully wont be under as much pressure from further up the park this year. wont have long to wait to see how they gel. young vladamir weiss could steal the attention from the big guns this year, one to watch out for.

whats with everyone having bad things to say about malouda
didnt anyone else notice his exceptional second half to the season last year, if that form continues he will carve up a lot of teams

I suppose if you keep thinking that Liverpool will win you will get lucky eventually! Just don't hold your breath mate.Shrimper wrote:1st- liverpool

It was only exceptional when you compared it to his first half of the season which was terrible - we should have taken Juventus' money when we had the chance.Chelsea4thewin wrote:whats with everyone having bad things to say about malouda

maybe it was the poor coaching of the scolari, amazing how a change of manager turned him into one of the worlds best left midfieldersOldRedback wrote:It was only exceptional when you compared it to his first half of the season which was terrible - we should have taken Juventus' money when we had the chance.Chelsea4thewin wrote:whats with everyone having bad things to say about malouda

I have nothing against Malouda on the wing, but we aren't playing with wingers as such, and he can't play in the middle, he's too one-sided. This diamond formation really has me worried, especially considering how solid the squad was towards the end of the season. Big year for Drogba coming though, i can't wait.
I really think Liverpool peaked last year and could be in serious trouble, Man City have a tiny chance of stealing second if they play well, but i doubt it.

in your earlier post u didn't even tip city to come third but now u think they have a slight chance of comeing second?Litmanen wrote:Chelsea4thewin wrote:whats with everyone having bad things to say about malouda

My earlier post is what i think the likely scenario is.
Man City are an unknown quantitiy, they could finish anywhere from 2 to 6 IMO, so i thought it was worth comment anyway.
I'm glad people are reading my comments though

thanks captain obvious. don't recall telling him how it should be written, merely pointing out the format is strange.Topin Wagglegammon wrote:Kouklo Mou wrote:that's a strange formattotsreds08 wrote:20-hull

I'm happy for everyone to under-estimate his performances, but I'm afraid none of them are managers of any EPL teams.Chelsea4thewin wrote:whats with everyone having bad things to say about malouda
