The future of Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni is in doubt after Louis van Gaal sent him to the reserves.
The 32-year-old has endured a difficult year. He played poorly in last summer's European Championship and only scored 14 goals in the Bundesliga in 2008-09.
The Bayern hierarchy made it known earlier this summer that the only player they regard as indispensable is France international playmaker Franck Ribery.
To make matters worse for Toni, the Bavarian side invested a lot of money in two new strikers in the offseason, namely Mario Gomez and Ivica Olic.
Toni must now be questioning his decision to stay at the club amid interest from Milan, Wolfsburg and Tottenham Hotspur.

Re: Toni relegated to reserves
I love the "only 14" in the league last season.
I guess the year before he got 30, and 33 in 2006-07 at fiorentina.

I can see him going back to Italy.
Although at 32 might be pushing it
