BACK TO BACK RELEGATION FOR NAVARINO

Post by Beer Baron »

After another thumping, it appears more and more likely that Navarino will suffer the drop again.

Also, i hear on the grape vine that a player exodus has occurred.

And in regards to the result on the weekend, hate to say i told you so.

I know some of the lads down there, they have some decent players on paper, and some with gd qualities but don't seem to click and get the results...

Two consecutive relegations would be hard on the club.

Some of the lads down there are only in it for themselves, as was evident over the weekend.

Since when is a game played on paper..?

I don't think anyone wants to see a team go backwards particularly when they were good enough to be promoted to Div 1 a few years ago.
Wanderers didn't see too much of their fighting spirit last year after a 14-1 victory and they forfeited their second match later in the year.

Do they need a change behind the scenes..?

Do you think they should pay players like the wanderers do? Maybe then we will see the fighting spirit that you speak of!

are re skiladiko....zues or what ever you want to call yourself, if they do good luck to them , but do you think there the only team that does, wake up to the real world , worry about your own club that is in div 2 by default and worrying about staying on top..will be great games this weekend at ellis park, wonder how our club ref will go? hopefully better than yours when we last played each other.....

HH,

No I don't think there is only one team that does pay its players, but I think it's funny how a team that pays it's players can comment on the 'fighting spirit' of a club which doesn't.

Perhaps you should worry about your own club earning some points this week to at least get a sniff of promotion instead of wondering how the vipers ended up in div 2. It wasn't the fault of the vipers that there was another slot for a div 3 team to go up. Anyone would take that opportunity with open arms. Vipers have at least proved themselves already for 2009. So in MY opinion whatever happens for the remainder of a season is a bonus, considering this is only our 3rd season.

Mate - we get paid with three points and have to buy from the BBQ & bar like everyone else. You don't pay for fighting spirit - it's in your character as a person and as a player!!!

Do teachers work better after their strikes and pay rises - no, they're just paid more. It sounds like you'd be better off with club men that'd fight to the death so to speak...

And Fresh Football should worry about his own club. Read my post again why I made the comment, I do not apologise if you do not understand.
No need to worry at our end. We're pretty happy with things at the moment and how far we have come.

if its $$ they want tell them to get a better job or move their ass a bit more at work to earn their $$ . a club doesnt need players like this . if a club feels the need to pay a player so be it , but it shouldnt be the only motivation to play the best you can . how would the other players feel if they knew these players were getting paid ?

I hope no-one is getting the wrong idea about Skiladiko's comment - he meant players in general, not Vipers players. We all work hard for the team...we only have about a handful of new players in the A's this year, we all are returning players who love the club.

re. navorinos relagation battle i say let them slide. they will probably fold and get reborn again as gryphons or gunners anyway . did have respect for them until their 14 goal defeat at the hands of wanderers and forfeit the return fixture . its not the thrashing i care about but to not have the guts to stand up like men and try again is weak .even if wanderers thrashed you more the next time around they and everyone else would have respected you more .
