Poor Fulham prems player Erin suffered a broken fibula during this game.........should have been a red card to the Cumberland player who cracked her. Next on Cumbys training agenda - learning how to tackle.

Campbeltown Vs City game was pretty devastating yesterday:

Ctown girls really went in firing even tho they were missing 3 of their stronger players - no striker (Macri) no mid (Corbo) and no defender (Totani)

The City keeper pulled out a massive save which kept the game 2-0 at half time. It was a huge improvement on the last time these two teams faced each other.
As for the second half, well, yeah it was devastating. With opportunities missed and a lack of enthusiasm or just plain frustration from the Ctown girls, City were allowed to score 4 more to make it 6-0.

I appreciate everyone who does not trash Ctown on here irrespective of the results.
It's been a hard season for the girls and with the aid of a new coach, I hope this young team will produce some more positive results soon.
Creds to Scalzi as yesterday was the first time I ever played against her - champion player and awesome attitude.

I for one can vouch for the cumby player, she feels so awful about that tackle! and perhaps it should've been a red, but in the end it was the refs decision, and if that should've been a red, then perhaps the fulham player that did that from behind tackle on the cumby player also should've been red carded!

all the best to Erin, we wish her a speedy recovery!

C'town aren't a bad team IMO and they can surely still improve a lot.
It's not easy to beat AC this year.
They can do well against other teams still. And they're still in for the cup! It would be a massive result if they qualify for the cup semis!
Only...I read the posts and now I'm confused, what was the score in the end, 8-0 or 6-0??? How many did Scalzi score?

Scalzi didnt score any but shes trying to say shes got a lot of respect for her etc. scalz is a machine to say the least, awesome player....ummm i think it was 6 or 7.....if defo wasnt 8 nil

i think kiki people do realise c-town are a pretty aight team. In saying that yesterdays result was shocking i agree, but i think c-town do create enough chances to win games but cant follow through, i think a classic example of that was last week, missing sitters six yards out, or multiple one on ones with the keeper etc...if you cant put it away when u have the chances then forget it. The difference is cumby took there chances and put them away. If people watch us i think they would see that.

2 nil at half time was ok considering city are top team this year, and after havin some ripper chances to snatch a couple of goals from some awesome set pieces but couldnt put it away, it just went all pear shaped after that. Same thing happened with the last metro game as well. Hopefully steering clear of the knights we'll be able to do better next season. there needs to be a solid foundation so the next few years the team does better and better. It dont help wen theres a new team every year and new players who havent really played with each other before.

And yes there is still cup! which where quite excited about considering our chances look aight too.

ohh btw did olympic win or lose?

Rumour has it that metro wanted it on one of the weekends with no games.
Cumby has a few players involved in state though, so it may not happen then...

3 of Cumby's named 'Prems 11' will be at Nationals, so within the rules they are entitled not to have to play the catch up game on those weekends.

So it's not decided yet is it?

I thought that this year the FFSA stipulated that in case of postponed games the clubs had to communicate the set date within 2 weeks...Can anyone confirm this?

I may be wrong though, but if not, why isn't there a date yet???

I hope not to see again last year's farce of postponed games played late in the season (If I remember correctly, 2 games were played AFTER the end of the season and they were ACTUALLY the games that decided the title!!!).

Otherwise the ppl that trash our sport on this forum will be all telling us that women's soccer is a joke etc etc...

yeah poor erin - went down in a sreaming heap due to the cumby player actually disregarding that we play with a round ball and not a leg fulll of bone - which is now cruched!!!

i understand she feels bad and we arent going on about her as much as the ref was an absolute joke....
sh!t happens - you do bad tackles and sometimes ppl do get injured but the ref therefore needs to take control.
the cumby player wouldnt have received a card AT ALL if chi and i werent screaming at him hahaha

c'ling - the player you are talking about, was trying to hold up the game... so it wasnt intentional at all...

i know i go on about this EVERY week - the ref's need a serious looking at. he was woeful on all counts. but at least he was consistant!!
consistantly SH1T......

dont worry shorty, im not saying im defending the player, but yes, bad tackles do happen. And i think the ref was gonna give her a card regardless, he just wanted to check on erin before talking to our player! he did give her a pretty stern warning...

so if the player was trying to hold up the game, wouldn't that imply that she intentionally went in with a bad tackle? not to injure our player or anything, i wasnt implying that, but surely there would be a better way to hold up the game then do a dirty from behind tackle?

but yes, agreed on all accounts that the ref was pretty woeful, and perhaps he could've/should've done more to take control of the game!

it was prob a bad tackle - but if i want to hold up the game, if that means i need to make a bad tackle then il do so. not to hurt the player but to hold it up - i tihnk a lot of players would think that.

but at the end of the day it was a physical game that could have got waaaay out of hand coz the ref didnt do his job - the only reason it didnt get out of hand, was because i like ur team hahaha

just my opinion.

haha im glad you like my team. i must say, cumby fulham games are getting to be the games i most look forward to! haha

the worst thing about the incident with erin was that the girl swung at her once and clipped her heels but erin managed to stay on her feet. a few steps later the girl swings and totally cracks erin whilst nowhere near the ball. twice attempted to take her out from behind is why i thought it warranted a red card. she should not have played the rest of the game and is lucky to be playing after the break

Fulham unlucky not to take the three points yesterday. imo anyways
