I also just noticed Mt Barker C2 did not have a game scheduled in Rd 2....did someone get stooged with a bye that they shouldn't have?

Looks like the SAASL fucked up, Salisbury Villa should have played Mt Barker C1.

No, the two Mount Barker sides should have played each other that day. I think perhaps (I'm not sure) that one of them forfieted and that the same club is not permitted to benefit for it and it was listed as a bye instead.

You sure? Because they are playing each other in Rd 9 which is the final round of the first half of the season, which leaves Mt Barker C1 and Salisbury Villa one game short.

Look at round eleven, which is the reverse fixtures of round two.

Now that you mention it, I think the two Mt Barkers had byes in round nine and it was switched so they can play a catch up game then. The two byes had each other just a couple of weeks ago (rnd seven).

Yeah I was confused by Round 11. Excellent, so at Rd 11, the league will catch up! (assuming you've played your catch up game)

I know it is cold and wet at Hahndorfs pitck at Mylor..........I'm still thawing my toes out.

Not a bad side the boys from the hills have, alot of experience.

Tough pitch to play on though, probably the roughest surface I have played on.

Friendly match
FC Adelaide 1 v 5 Cove (div 5)
Game played in good spirits.
FC scored first as they played with the wind & put together some nice flowing moves. It didn't help that some Cove players turned up to the match late. First half finished 1:1.
Cove pulled their socks up a bit in the 2nd half with their midfield playing strongly. I think a few FC players were taken-off to be subs for the follow-on match.
Good BBQ. Thanks for the match.

You ran us off the park in the second half. Kept me busy anyway. Agree with the game played in good spirits. I know there were at least two goal kicks that didn't go out the box before someone touched it and surprisingly no-one argued it.

Thanks for coming.

With the second half of the season kicking off tommorow, what are the thoughts will Handorf stay top or can they be caught? As the only team to have beaten them so far i would have believed they could be cuaght especially after seeing the quality of a side like FC Adelaide (beat us easily 3-0 even with Bodo trying to give away a goal :) ) With the second half of the season and all to play for we will be pushing you all the way, but I fear Handorf may just stay top. :(

Not that free kick that hit the woodwork in the first half ??? I so thought that was going wide until it went clang Image

I do beleive we were lucky to be in front in the first half to tell the truth but was very happy with our second half.

I think Hahdorf can be caught. We have to go there and win and you've proved it can be done. I have no idea when our abandoned/postponed match with Mount Barker C1 is to be played.

ha ha no that was a great free kick and when our player struck it I was willing it in all the way, but i was refering more to when you fluffed your goal kick direct to our striker then he manged to find a way to put it behind!

Well i certainly do hope you beat them when you visit up there, as it will give us a chance to cath back up again!

Certainly a well matched league this year and I lookforward to our return match hopefully with a reversed result! :P

I see on the SAASL website that Salisbury Villa beat Mount Barker C1 2-1 on the weekend. Was this fixture brought forward from round 17? The two Mount Barker sides were scheduled to play each other last weekend, although they can play that tie on round 18 like they did in the first half of the season (plaing round 2 on round 9).

I have also noticed there are no matches schedule for august 8th. Does anyone know why?

Code: Select all

                 P W D L F A Pts

I think that was the result from earlier in the season?

August 8 is Cup QF.

Then they have put it in the table twice (I think). I've just got confirmation our catch up match with Mount Barker C2 will be played on august 8th.

Handorf only won by a solitary goal yesterday just like Flinders. Next weekend should be interesting. If we and the Iggies both win the top four will be level on 21 points.
