Saints 2 - Wanderers 0
Good game to watch and the scoreline possibly flattered Saints a little bit.
Brian Gale, man of the match - pulled off saves like he was 18 years old!
Roo had a few chances to get Wanderers back into it late on but didn't look himself today.
All in all, top game! I heard it was the first time Saints have beaten Wanderers.

Great day for the club as a whole. The B's came from behind to level it up, and the A's grafted hard to maintain and regain the lead. It was a tough encounter; indeed Flinders league position hides their true quality. The Vipers nevertheless didn't give up attacking and pressed on to get four well-earned goals. A great effort by all players today, another step in the right direction!

First division
A's: Adelaide Villa 1 - 2 Adelaide Uni
B's Adelaide Villa 1 - 0 Adelaide Uni
Inspirational comeback from Adelaide Uni in the As, with one of uni's substitutes getting two goals in the second half. Villa played some great possession soccer for large periods of the first half but seemed to tire a bit in the second. The fresh legs brought on down Uni's right hand side caused them trouble.
In the B's, it was a game largely dominated by both defences. For the winner, Uni were caught with too many forward of the ball while searching for a winner in the second half and subsequently conceded themselves.

A's- SPOC 2 - 0 Wanderers
B's - SPOC 4 - 2 Wanderers (I think???)
What a fantastic day it was on the Lloyd today! Both teams really looked up for the game, with pride and points at stake. The first half was a very cagey affair with both teams having chances (namely Wanderers have the ball cleared off the line twice!!!). It was a tough and rugged game with tackles flying in from both sides. In the second half SPOC scored realtively early on through a lovely header from John Olive, and the game bascially came down to poor marking by Tassovac. Wanderers then hand a number of chances mainly through Tassovac and he missed them all. One interesting piece of play was when our left back decided to pass the ball back to the keeper, nevertheless Joe decided not to score that chance either.... Finally with Wanderers pushing 4 up front Alex Kleut came on and scored another header to cap off a fine game. All in all a tough game but I believe SPOC had more periods of dominance and deserved their win....
I have to ask everyone if their Ref's were calling for pushing in the back heaps today? Ours (Steve) was calling fouls if your hands were up at all, even if the player backed into you and you didnt use force? Was this a league directive do you think? But it did seem to get more picky as the day went on....
COME ON for Villa next week!!!

I got the ACU and Strath results sms'd to me.
As v Comets
Watched this game, geez there was some niggle out, not dirty but really hard at it. The ref did nobody favours by letting it all go, so the tackles got harder and harder. We went in 1-0 up at half-time having scored in the first minute. We hit the crossbar with the practically last kick of the first half which would have changed things completely. Comets scored two goals from set pieces (our BIG weakness in the As) to take the lead in the first 15-20 minutes of the second half and were well on top. We shuffled a bit and took the ascendancy, hit the crossbar, and ultimately scored the equaliser with 10 to go, 1-on-1 on a fast break, I think Comets keeper got a hand to it. Neither side could find a winner, although we looked more likely., but didn't pressure their keeper.
Bs v Comets
By far the toughest game we've had all year, a game won by will more than skill! We scored early (about 5 mins in) and continually pressed but couldn't find a second. Comets took the ascendancy in midfield about midway through the half and eventually scored after ONE member of our defence, after we were all moving up from a corner, played their striker onside and he scored a decent header from about 10 yards out, completely unmarked. This was about the 35th minute.
The second half was a slog, we had an early chance which was blazed over and I hit the cross-bar from a corner about half way through. Comets were playing quite direct to their strikers, but our keeper was sweeping really well. We took the lead with 15 to go, a left foot curling shot on the edge of the box, which their keeper didn't see until it was right next to him. We held on at the end as Comets pushed and pushed.
Cs v Murray Bridge
I didn't really see this game as I was watching the As, but we were 3-0 up at half time, and 4-0 up five minutes into the second half. We conceded two late goals to make the game interesting but from all accounts we won comfortably.
Ds v Murray Bridge
I played at the same time as this game, but we apparently scored early in both halves, whilst Bridge had one disallowed in the first half. They scored with 15 to go to make a game of it and we held on.
Es v Salisbury Villa
0-0 at half time in a tight scrappy affair, then our Es turned it on with some good quality stuff and eventually overran a very tired looking Villa outfit (I think they only had one sub?).
A great day out at Glenunga with a big crowd. 4.5 wins out of 5, hopefully we'll crack 5/5 soon! Cheers to all teams for supporting our bar and knowing that what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch.

ARBE 2 Adelaide Cougars 4
ARBE 0 Adelaide Cougars 3
Great results for both teams. Extends the a's unbeaten run and should put the b's near the top somewhere. We were in contol of both games from the start but ARBE played with a lot of heart to keep the games competitive. The game was hard and played in good spirits.
PS- Congrats to Zippy Simo for scoring his second hatrick in as many games B.O.G for me If Carlton had your scoring average they may have been in with a chance buddy

Thought you had more brains than that monkey.. Theres no way you can say you deserved the win.. You went up twice and scored.. Your lucky your keeper played well or it wouldve been 5-2.. Just pull your head in a bit cause you havent won anything yet.. And having played the nearly everyone, id have to say Villa are the best side, and i have no idea how St.Peters are top because they are very ordinary and not as great as what they think they are...

With Modbury and Africa winning, Wanderers go third bottom in Saturday Premier, only 3 points ahead of second-bottom Africa!

Still too early to tell who's top side of Premier 1. Wait until half-way mark. Bosa and Saints still to play Villa each. Uni sneaking up there also.
