YOUR WORST FOOTBALL MOMENT?

Post by ruud »

An opposite thread to your best footballing moment. Share your worst footballing moments as a fan.

In my opinion, it is the worst footballing moments that prove how big of a fan you are. If you live through the agony your country/club goes through and still come back for more. It shows you are a true fan.

----------------

My worst football moment would have to have been when holland got knocked out on penalties in euro 2000 to italy.

We missed 2 penalties during the game, absolutely killing italy in the process, and then lost on the penalty shootout at the end.

Abbiati save from Kallon in dying minutes of 2003 CL semi final, cost us CL final against a Juve that had no Nedved.

Moggi getting into football.

Not being in Milano whenever Inter win a cup or league

Euro 2000 final.

Seeing Italy beat Bulgaria in Euro 2004 with a last minute goal only to change the channel and see Sweden and Denmark drawing 2-2. From joy to agony in one second.

Losing consecutive CL titles in 97 and 98.

Last day of the season title loss to Lazio. How it happened was just bizzare.

Relegation to Serie B. I enjoyed the season overall but the initial decision was just bad.

Baggio missing against Brazil.

Aus V Italy last world cup.

Villa V Chelsea FA Cup final, David James had a blinder untill he dropped a cross and Chelsea won 1-0.

Being knocked out finals in straight sets after going undefeated all season at Metro.

Inter were outplayed over the two legs & only played well for the last 15 minutes of the 2nd leg, Inter were such losers(literally) at the time that they would of lost of Juventus regardless who they had in that team.

Milan beat Inter in the semi finals & then went on to defeat Juventus in the final to lift the champions league BURN! the Milan - Inter quarter finals a few years later weren't too bad either

Settle down, only had it no.1 because I had my flight tickets booked and a guaranteed ticket to the final

Could go into war and peace about 03 & 05 matches but not worth it, pages on that history are well and truly turned.

Right now I'll just enjoy restoring the balance in Italy and look forward to the gap closing in Europe.

Talking about the future with Materazzi, Crespo, Figo & Vieira on the way out at Inter, how many do you think Milan will sign. Milan lab will surely get another four years out of these guys 8)

Sunderland were relegated to the second-tier with a then-record low 19 points in 2003 (which has since been rectified by Derby County)

When olympiakos won last years title by appealing there 1-0 to a relegated team when they were clearly outplayed and could only win by cheating. AEK were clearly the best team last year and should have won the league
